Todays mission went as follows. Mission one we all got shot down with Hunter and Schoerder each got a kill. Mission two we won!!!!

The pilot of the FW-190 that I shot down must have been a replacement pilot because he flew straight and level in the combat zone for more than 30 seconds, so I blew his tail off.

I'm still baffled about what got my ailerons in the first mission. I never heard a bullets hit my plane and I was maneuvering quite fast at the time. First, I though I spinned, but then noticed the 'Aileron damaged' text thingy. Me thinks a jarmin clipped me. :hmmm:

I saw a fw 190, then it dissapeared.:yep:

Aye, saw the smoke from my mirror. I had maybe 5% control of the ailerons, tried to keep the plane steady and get to friendly side, but one tit came and blew my left wing off. :shifty:

Note to self: NEVER EVER fly as the #1, IL2's AI tend to target it first.

Then I turnt.

I think for this campaign we should have wingman that will stay with you during the mission instead of breaking off and going lone wolf. That and we all should use the PAT smoke mod so whoever is the leader of the pair can be identified by their wingman in case they become seperated from their leader.

I actualy stayed with hunter, till I blacked out.:shifty: Had no control.

I think you where the exception in mission one, most of us broke formation and went lone wolf, I know because I was way back behind the group and Dowly was a bit behind me. But my point is that if we do mission one or one like it with large numbers of enemy fighters, it would be better if everyone had a wingman, because if you don't you'll be blown out of the sky. Now if there are missions like the second one everyone should pick their own target.

or in that missions case, try to find a target that hasent gone boom.:haha:

Well I tried following a couple of friendlies, ie dunno who it was but was with them. I could see the 190's and then bam I was blown out the sky.

The second mission is daft there are 4 190's and about a billion spitfires chasing them. I came in low behind one and he was turning, (btw they blend in really well with the ground so damn hard to pick them out) somehow he managed to accelerate from me or one of you guys nipped in front. I saw some shooting as I was trying to catch up and we headed into the sun. I saw what I thought was the target 200 metres in front and blew his wing off. I was pretty chuffed with myself till hunter said "Whoever shot down that Spitfire is going to get shot" and the friendly aircraft destroyed came up on screen.

Ho hum.....It seems with Biggin Hill even offline a lot is to do with luck as it is pilot skill. PLaying offline can be quite as bad since the damn AI will steal your kills.

I wont be flying tonight, had quiet a busy week so I'm a bit knackered tonight.
