First conservatives said the stimulus wouldn't create jobs, now they are saying it will create lots of jobs that go to illegals? :har:
On a more serious note, the lack of an E-Verify provision is a failure both parties can be proud of. :nope: |

Right. The facts are adjustable per the cause. You know all about that......

The sheer amount of spending in this one bill and the expansion of the Federal budget that it will create will likely lead to stagflation and even worse problems down the road. Every time we've tried this general approach, that's what happened. So what really makes it funny is that this is just one more thing the stimulus bill and the Administration has done wrong, but you seem to think it is egg on our faces somehow. |
You got that impression from this...?

Last I heard the illegals were going back to Mexico. There are just no jobs here.

That part. You're using it out of the context of the conservative argument. I just explained that. Quote:

Quiet irony hiding around this thread, Enigma's avatar is currently the old man as well.

We are all old men...it is just a matter of time until you reach that status. :salute:

I for once have to agree with the points Enigma originally made. The "republicans" did scream this wouldn't create jobs (though that didn't stop them with their own 700+ Billion stimulus did it?), and now they are hollering about illegals.
Enigma is also right that both parties should be publicly flogged (in a discussion sense) on their refusal to get E-verify implemented properly. Yes there is a form of it, but there is no reason that they shouldn't enforce the laws we have and say if you hire an illegal and run them thru e-verify and we don't catch it - then later raid you - your covered. But if you don't - your looking at jail time and hefty fines. This is the way the law is set up currently regarding enforcement - but its not implemented. And that is not just the democrats fault - it has been a continual failure on BOTH sides. While he and I disagree on a lot of things - he appears to only be pointing out the doubletalk being put out by the "right" - which is what they have done in this case. I call it like I see it, and in this case - the republicans are doing the same thing they accuse the left of - scare tactics. Had they had the testacles to impliment E-verify - they wouldnt have a thing to worry about. The stimulus is still a bad thing - but screaming fits about stuff they could have prevented is pretty lame.... |
