Childrens book producers rush to get Obama books out.

Is this indoctrination or just supply and demand?

Bit of both, I believe. Perhaps they should wait to write the books until after we know what kind of Prez he is.

Kids are not enthralled by Obama's story, adults are enthralled in making money off of this. Look at the inaugural day....get a coffee mug, t-shirt, cap, mouse pad, doll, stickers, flags with Obama on it. It looked like the outside of a football stadium on game day. Granted it is a very interesting story inclusive of media and the campaign coverage, definitely a defining moment in history but...come on, kids are enthralled?

Bush is a former oil man/baseball team owner with a Father who was head of the CIA and POTUS. He got involved in the family business.

Obama is the son of an Immigrant, the first African American President of the United States. His is a fascinating,and uncomparable story. (see book sales).

There's something very Rush Limbaugh-ish about your disdain of anything Obama. (not suprising, given that Rush owns Republicans, it seems). Are you foolish enough to think that publishers are mass producing books in order to indoctrinate children? Or is it possible that that easiest explanation, that people find Obama's story an inspiring one for children and adults alike, is true?

Im sure the book publishers are interested in profits first, that is after all what keeps them in buisness. I hope they make tons of money from the sales of the books so the federal goverment can tax them out of existance.

I never once implied that their ulterior motive was to indoctrinate children, that was the articles inference. The anchor post asked for opinions.

But there is no question in my mind that the popular media at large is enamord with Obama and are falling over one another to prop him up.

I have nothing agains Obama himself. No what I dislike is the fact that he lies to the american people, presents himself as the saviour, a centrist, yet he is none of the above.

Heres an opinion piece from Fox news about the 5 top 'promises' by the chosen one which were broken. Certainly consider the source but I challange our liberal friends out there to debunk any of these 'facts'.

The "other" is the President of the United Sates. He was also a Senator, and a community organizer. While that title may be funny to you and Sarah Palin, it's nothing short of a grass roots, royalty free level of organizing people in a specific community to act in their own self interest. Well, lots of people find it inspiring that a man from his background and race can aspire to be President. It's not like his story isn't unique. He's the first African American President. African Americans couldn't even eat in the same restaurants as white people 40 years ago....:-?

It is a unique story but I do not feel inspired. Nothing more. I do not need a hat, cup, mug, shirt, book, sneakers, socks or PJ's with his image on it. 40 years ago? Lets take a look at those before Obama. These are inspiring people. Obama is just reaping what they sweated and toiled for. It is called Black History Month. What next? Obama month? The guy has not done a darn thing yet. All that has happened is a change of how campaigning is done and how to use todays tech to win.

I'd say a lot of this Obama paraphernalia is sold to people hoping to cash in on it's collectors value in a few years.

True. Unfortunately while some look negatively at those who seem to worship him, they don't look at themselves condemning him. Campaign promises unfulfilled? Typical of all politicians.

Some of his comments, particularly the one practically worshiping labor unions, are starting to bother me. And I've disagreed with him on a lot of political points from the start. But, as been said, he hasn't really done anything yet, so only time will tell.

Read a few back bro.....when this cash grab Obama has spearheaded comes crashing down you will find these items in the trash or at the $1.00 table at the local church bazaar. The first stimulus check was cut months ago....we ain't seen nothing! Since he has been in office the stock market has done nothing but go down! Face it. The stock market has crashed but DC is not going to utter these words. Hell no! Time will be spent handing out billions and advising this will take years to fix. In the mean time DC will hope to hell it all works out.
