"Cordoba. The car for the man who know who he is!"

Been a fan of sorts since the '50s. He was much better than some give him credit for.

Funny....how famous that line from a commerical was. Oddly enhough that's a misquote as Montalbán actually says that "soft Corinthian leather" is an available upholstery option for the 1976 Chrysler Cordoba.

Even more odd is there is no such thing as Corinthian leather. Just a marketing term.

Farewell Ricardo.

Corinthian Leather = a product of the Corinth Leather Company, Corinth NY.

On a side note, Number Six also died. RIP Patrick McGoohan.

Two of my favorites gone in one day...both had a good long run, though.

We have a generation of bad Montalbán impersonators to blame for it. ;)

Patrick McGoohan too! I wonder if the cause of death was being smothered by a giant floating bubble. :p

He was considered for the role of James Bond for Dr. No in 1962. So close to the greatest spy character of all. He also played the English king Edward Longshanks in the movie Braveheart.

Always loved that scene where he throws his son's 'military advisor' out the window.

That is sad. I did like him in the Khan roll. It suited him. RIP

That was something of a comeback role for him iirc.

Close too? Drake could clear up in thirty minutes something that Bond would take hours to resolve, and he'd do it with less mess to clean up.:D
