Half of me pitys 'trekkies', half of me is jelous of them.

baggygreen 10-22-08 06:24 PM

Voyager and Enterprise are my favourite series, followed closely by the next generation.

While the original series is awesome and theres no denying it, the effects make me laugh. I know i know it was good for the time, but still...

Hey, I'm also now a student in an English PhD program. So this is like, my sacred duty or something :p

On topic, I never watched much Star Trek as far as series, but I saw a few of the movies and quite enjoyed.

I'm afraid it is gone.
Social convention finally got the better of me.

Sailor Steve 10-22-08 07:02 PM

I once worked with a guy who made himself up to look like a Klingon for movie premiers and parties. When I called him a Trekkie he replied "I'm a Trekker! There is a difference, you know.

And I came back with "Yeah, but only a dyed-in-the-wool Trekkie would say something that lame."

I watch the original series when it first aired in 1966. Watched the follow-ons. Not so much a fan as I used to be.

Oh good! Then you can't get upset when I start correcting your spelling. ('Happened').
