Eh, it could be worse. BB drivers normally tend to avoid shooting at small ships at long range since they're so small and hard to hit compared to other BBs.

Well my sinking was a result of a lucky Miss...I was floating close to an other BB
I'm new to this, and just wondering seeying repairing costs some...where is my Money/Point counter? or a screen where I can see my Account lvl, Exp etc

Repairs and ammo reloads are free for FF to CL. Once you get to CA, then you start paying.

The money/point counter is in the bottom right corner of your screen, two numbers that say CREDIT and POINT.

XP and account level are fairly ambiguous, most players use account level to refer to the level of the highest level BO that you own, since that's what determines which ships you can command; in general if you have more than one BO then they refer to them separately, but for most players that only have one BO, that's the one to look at.

You can see how much XP your BO has by holding your mouse over it. There's also a table for how much XP is needed in order to level up at each level at www.trainworld.us.

Which sucks in my Hipper because half the time you lose which means you have to pay more to rep your ship then what you get in the battle.

Doesn't help I can't hit anything.

Starting to wish I'd gone with a nation a bit closer range.

Really fun game and even better, its free.

Raptor1 10-14-08 01:36 PM

Oh, I play on Hood occasionally too, I think I have a Q class (HMAS Quality) there

EDIT: Oh, seems I have a Kagero on Hood (Maikaze), Q class on Bismarck

claybirdd 10-14-08 05:48 PM

We need a Subsim clan and our own hosts.

One way to get credits at lower levels is by using AA, since that gives you bonus credits whenever you shoot down planes. Hell, doing that in an Emden practically guarantees free money, and is fun to boot.

And trust me, range is a lot more valuable than you think. For being touted as the "balanced" nation, USN has pretty much the shortest ranged ships in the game, and I've had to deal with that for 89 levels, that's why I started a KM line...

If accuracy is an issue, you can buy store items to improve the performance of your gunners. The items themselves are fairly cheap (2 bucks apiece) and can really help at low levels.

Emwungarand and Markaragnos on the Arizona server.

Kelvin I have a Kagero(?)DD and have upgraded to twin barrell turrets. my question is when selecting shells, do I click the single shell icon or the double? when I click double and go to battle it says no more ammo.

Also, is it advisable to put regular guns on instead of AA? This is my current approach. Instead of 2 main guns and 2 aa, i HAVE 4 DOUBE BARRELL TURRETS.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Yamamto on AZ i think , got an IJN BB driver and Km line too , pity my gunners suck so badly :/

Those shell icons are for your ammo lockers. You have two lockers, A and B. When you select your A locker (which is the default one that you use when battle starts), your guns in your selected gun group (R or T) will all fire that ammo. You can switch lockers in the middle of battle (the Y key) and it'll take time to reload, but it offers you a lot of flexibility. For example, on battleship main guns, players fill their A locker with Light HE and their B locker with AP; so they'll normally fire explosive shells at their targets, but when they encounter an enemy that has enough armor to stop those shells, they switch to their B locker and use AP to break through.

As for your second question, my opinion is that it's never too early to learn how to AA, but for IJN there's the exception that their AA gunner class requires a bit of special classing. For now, stick with classing your main gunners normally (you should have two of them, one for forward R guns and one for rear R guns), and level your AA gunners after doing a bit of research on how they should be classed.
