PBS... pffffft.

Digital_Trucker 10-01-08 10:45 AM

I'm beginning to wonder what the BS in PBS really stands for.:hmm:

I'm sure that this journalist has been on Meet the Press many times in the journalists round table discussion featured in the later half of the show. :hmm:

I think she will be pulled from this debate. McCain will not allow this bias woman or book to participate. I suspect this woman is so enamered with Obama, if he said the sun will not rise tomorrow she would believe it. So, will the questioning be different for Palin than Biden? You betcha!

Konovalov 10-01-08 12:34 PM

Conservatives in this thread don't seem to be on the same page as John McCain. In an interview to Fox News McCain said she was a professional who will do an excellent job. I can't find a transcript yet on Fox but it was just on the tv.

FIREWALL 10-01-08 12:34 PM

I watch PBS for the NOVA and History Detective stuff.

They should stay neutral and out of Politics.:yep:

No she wont be pulled. McCain is "not a partisan guy"

Interesting....then again, might be a good move for McCain not to request this woman replaced. In other words, the media after the debate will say the cards were stacked in Bidens favor if Palin does poorly. Remember the "men" going after Hillary in the primaries? This might work to Palin interest. :hmm: Lately the media has been complaining Palin is not accessible and somehow sheltered. Perhaps they will say the same thing here if this woman is pulled

At the end of the day with all of this it is the candidate(s) who will need to stand on their own two feet.
No matter where the questions come from.

Its not so much 'where the questions come from' rather the careful planning, positioning, and delivery striving for that 'gotcha' moment.

Perhaps even more important it's the questions that will be left out.

But were putting the cart before the horse. The debate has yet to be seen. Ill wait to see it before I pass real judgement. I will however keep in mind the old phrase 'consider the source'.

Whenever I see the show "oregon art beat," i say to myself " i can't believe my tax dollars are going to this!"

There's no money to fix the roads or fund police, but there's always money for oregon art beat.:x

You know, my local department of transportation office has had a dozen holes around it for the past 10 years. They only fix two, both of which cause their trucks to bounce when they back out of the parking lot. The others haven't caused them any problems, so they don't bother fixing them.

Just thought it was a little relevant...

As if it matters who the so called "moderators" are. It isn't a real debate on the issues, more of a collection of stump speeches, and is run like a business by the CPD, who takes donations from corporations and bans a possible 3rd party candidate from the discussion. It's a farce.:shifty:

Enigma 10-01-08 07:19 PM

Oh, and can anyone tell me why any member of the media is "moderating" these events? Why must it be media figures?

Now you're thinking like a politician!;)
My sentiments exactly.:yep:

This could be a powerful advantage for McCain as swing voters (esp females) rally around a VP that has been mocked and harassed by the left for being a woman. Obviously her family-friendly image and simple, honest values aren't good enough for those elitist Dems. And so on and so forth.

Used wisely, this could be a sticking point with voters.

That's something I'd like to know, too. An experienced debate moderator would seem to be the proper choice. I'm talking about real debates, not these things we've been watching.
