Seems Russia can do anything it wants without one cry for UN sanctions from the usual bunch of whinning eurogirl hypocrites. Not even an accusation of Russia making a unilateral decisions in securing winter supply of oil. Hmm I wonder if the silence just implies war for oil is acceptable to you?
Once again silence, but this time it's Southpark, something must be done! Yes, yes somebody must do something. Quickly now paste some news articles in protest otherwise next thing you know North Korea might see weakness and start their nuclear weapons production program again. :p |
You are obsessed with "whinning eurogirls" Shockstar.
Southpark viewed as "extremist". :o Is someone having a laugh in Russia? |
Perhaps the Russians are proposing to ban anything that hasn't been funny in the last five years. :smug:

Churches aren't prosecutors. Prosecutors feel that it warrants looking into. Church people may have asked that it be looked at, but the church isn't enforcing anything. Church members are as entitled to complain about anything atheists are aren't they? Or should only the "enlightened non-Christian" be allowed to voice concerns or lack thereof?

What's the big deal. If it was a different country would it warrant a thread here with all the same conotations as this one was started or is it because it is Big Bad Russia. It's not like the UK, US and other countries haven't banned programmes before beacuse they thought they were offensive. Mary Whitehouse anybody?
also The Life of Brian was banned by several councils in Britain for blasphemy.. |

Kind of a non-story, really. For the record, I love South Park, a healthy dose of cultural and political irreverence goes a long way.
Oh, and regarding priests being worried about childrens innocence, it makes me laugh. |
I heard something along the same lines a few years ago on voice of Russia. They were bemoaning the fact that the classic Russian cartoons weren't popular anymore and couldn't compete with the Western cartoons. vis-s-vie Cheburashka.

Cheburashka is great and the old Soviet Cartoons and animations are way better than most western stuff. There are a few modern things too.
