Heres something we all have in common at subsim

Tell me the truth now........

You've beem sitting there downloading a file or waiting
for Youtube to load.

when you have done it.

we've all done it in those moments.

we have all reached over and tried to warp the space time
continuum by trying to boot up the T/C on everything.

I admit I've done it. I clicked the lower right corner of the screen (as in DW) expecting the download to speed up only to be suprised with my clock and calender settings.

mapuc 07-16-08 05:25 PM

Sorry, but what do you mean by "boot up the T/C"?

I have more than once tried to pass the time with TC, still doesn't work

I call for it to be introduced in the next patch!

Whenever I play 688i Hunterkiller, I always catch myself looking on the lower left corner of the screen for the pop up stations menu. There are also several games when I get surprised by moving my mouse over to the left side of the screen and not having the SHIII menu pop out.

Die! Slowly you blasphemer.

UnderseaLcpl 07-16-08 08:55 PM

The closest I've come to that was seeing a supertanker on the news the other day and thinking "mmmmmmmm......juicy".

rifleman13 07-16-08 08:59 PM

I wanted to go to the docks to "view" some shipping but HQ denied my request, citing it was too dangerous!

I think this was brought up in another thread but I will repeat it here:

How many of us, when seeing a ship, start mentally calculating AoB?

<raising hand>

Sailor Steve 07-17-08 08:16 AM

Don't see many ships here in the mountains.

I have, however, done it countless times with trucks on the highway.

ReallyDedPoet 07-17-08 08:23 AM

Good one, and yes I have done it :D

ROTFL

Extremely good call. everytime im on the river fishing and see a Bass boat i automatically start calculating AOB. I like to think of my 12' flatbottom as a sub and and those nice juicy Bass Trackers as DD's.

Syxx_Killer 07-19-08 04:28 PM

I've never actually went through the motions of pressing the + key on the numpad, but I sure came close. When something is taking a long time I want to press it so bad. Whenever I see a ship I want to press the + key and I start trying to figure out a firing solution. :dead:

Is that something like pressing the "Mute" button on the remote when the Wife is droning on and on about something? Without getting caught of course...

Yes I think ive done this before to.(shows I play this game to much)

I didn't know what T/C meant until this post. LOL Now that I understand what it means it was pretty funny.

It's been a long time since I played Sub Destroyer II. I passed on Sub Hunter III and just purchased Sub Hunter IV. But my computer is too slow to play anything newer than Sub Hunter II. :(

I didn't use TC in Dangerous waters as I am still trying to figure out how to play that game. Wait a second, I did use time compression when I was in auto pilot flying the Helo and trying to land back on the destroyer. But man that's been over a year ago.

But I have never thought of using TC when downloading a file. I have thought about kicking my computer with my boot a few times.

Once I took my baseball cap off and whacked my HP Computer. That caused the hard drive to fail so I don't do that anymore. I hit the top of my wooden file cabinet once and broke the 3/4" 18" by 20" board that was on top. I had to build a new top for my file cabinet. And the wood covering is a different color now on the top as I could not get the coving that matched the other boards. These are those saw dust glued together type wood boards. I forget the name of that... particle board? The Sandefer File cabinets and book shelves are cheap and easy to put together. And If I ever move they can be torn apart and moved easier. But they are not very sturdy and break easily when you Karati chop them. LOL
