Do you listen to talk radio?

I'm curious how many of you listen to talk radio. If you do, who is your favorite host. I personally like the local shows more than the national ones (as they can be redundant)

Oh, and on a side note, are the political talk radio show popular in Europe?

I like to listen in, but not usually because I agree with what's being said. I just like the perspective it gives me on other views and the ammunition to argue with them when I know the "scientifically proven fact" they are defending was in reality just something some host said.

Back in my technician days I used to listen to WBZ news and talk radio. Mostly for "traffic on the threes" but Paul Harvey was always fun to listen to as well.

Yes and no. I listen once in a great while, but they're all about making noise, not finding real solutions. But that's what their listeners want, so that says a lot about us. Couldn't vote, though - the categories are all love or hate, no "Casual Interest."

The only talk show host I really like is Kim Komando.

Can't see her on the radio. Finding the link to her site was the first time I've ever seen her. She just does a great show on computers. When a caller asked which was better for a back-up hard drive, external or internal, she said "External. If your house is on fire you can just toss it out the window, or carry it with you. You can replace your computer; you can't replace years of work."

I love her.

I listen to NPR from time to time, but, I'm not in my car enough to ever listen to the radio that much. Most of what the talk radio shows that hold any interest for me, I prefer to read about anyways, since I have a rather hard time deciphering, if not actually hearing, what people say.

Bababooey.

I love Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio. He's really funny. I've talked to him several times.

By times I do, CBC ( Canadian Broadcasting Corporation ) has some good local and National Stuff.

Radio talkback, i like listening to it in the early hours when the drunks come on and try to talk slurring their speech and talking a load of crap before the talkhost kicks em:lol:

My favorite MN show.

Monica Lewinsky 07-11-08 11:08 PM

I listen to LOCAL talk shows mostly. National ones are a turn off for me since they seem to have the cream-of-the-crop of nut cases "talking".

I NEVER listen to any music channels any more while driving.

TheBrauerHour 07-12-08 12:46 AM

Same for me. On my drive in I listen to liberal talk radio. On my drive home I listen to conservative talk radio. Helps keep me informed. Every once in a while, I say to heck with it all and listen to ESPN Radio. But never do I listen to music over the FM dial. Same 5 songs repeated over and over....blecht!

Kapt Z 07-12-08 09:04 PM

I dabble with NPR and when I really want a fix of crazy conspiracy bs WBAI. I have a hour commute one way so there is plenty of time to get into something good if the topic is interesting. If not there is always the Ipod!
