Unusual German Small Arms and Infantry Weapons of World War II
MKB-42 - best gun of WWII and precursor to the AK-47.

Hey SUBMAN1, I've been :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:all the way to the bank with this one!

Actually most of the experimental rifles remind me of the G-3 rather than the AK-47.
Which is hardly a suprise as Mr. Heckler and Mr. Koch worked for Mauser in WW2. But there's some really bad german in that article: "Wehrspartigewein" could mean "Wehrsportgewehr", which would be "military sports rifle". But my favorite is this: http://greyfalcon.us/picturesw/w24.jpg 3 kg Rollbombe. In order put the bowling skills of many germans to good use... Actually it was a sapper weapon, for use against Bunkers, and came in various sizes up to 10 kgs. The "Einstossflammenwerfer" had a worthy successor in oscurity with the "Handflammpatrone" of the Bundeswehr, some kind of oversized one shot flare gun that fired a phosphorous charge up to 30 meters. I've never seen one and I don't know anyone who has ever seen one, but supposedly this one-shot one hand flamethrower was in service until 2001. Maybe sapper units had them... |

I noticed they didn't have the German "Cornner Shot" I saw on the History Channel. Basicly it was a MP-44 with a curved barrel attachment. There was a 90 degree one for CQB and a 30 degree one for shooting though the hatch of a tank. It even had a little periscope for aiming.
Speaking of Periscopes I like that Pazerfaust with a scope! I really could have use a few of those in the Pegusus Bridge mission in Call of Duty! |
Don't forget the Vampir thermal imaging scope, designed for use with the Stg44.

Or it might have been a Low Light system like the old Starlight Scopes used in Vietnam. :hmm: |

Always liked the 7.92mm STG-44 with Krummlauf bent-barrel attachment:up:
Had see a few of them before, but a couple were new to me. |
