Steed!!!!!

Did you do your CIVIC DUTY today? :p

Konovalov 05-01-08 04:12 PM

Voting for Gordon Brown's party in the local elections perhaps?

STEED 05-01-08 04:21 PM

None of the above. ;)

Councils have no real power as such, county councils have most of the power.

I hope Boris wins.

Ha ha ha ha
labour got a hammering

STEED 05-02-08 07:43 AM

I know it was a protest vote but you got to love it.

Council elections don't mean a bar of soap as they have little power. Next years county council election results will be interesting to see as Gordon Brown is going full term to 2010. If Gordon Brown looses the election one thing will be for sure, he should have called a snap election last Nov07 where he would of walked it.

I contributed to the Vale of Glamorgan escaping from Labour's grasp

The few minutes I listen to him, he seemed abit.... abit... lunatic? And he does look alot like Gary Busey, who is usually the bad guy in his movies. :hmm:

That pretty much describes him, 'bumbling oaf' is another term that's often used. Here he is presenting Have I Got News For You, a British comedy news quiz:

Man is steed going to be hung over:up: I guess it's okay as long as he doesn't wake up on the front lawn wearing someone else's clothes.:rotfl:

Congrats on the big win. I hope Gary Busey will make a grear Mayor. I've been reading up on the British politics.
http://www.conservatives.com/

I figure labo(u)r:rotfl: is pretty much the same as the democratic party here.

The mayoral elections are coming up here. They have the current mayor (uber-lefty), the former mayor (running again), some old guy, and a guy I'd never heard of.
By a freak twist of fate, I wound up listening to the "mayoral debate" on the radio. The office is non-partisan:rotfl: . In the debate, the opening statements basically went like this: The mayor blamed EVERYTHING on GWB, the potholes, the crime problems...blah, blah, blah. The former mayor (who is an okay guy) went off on how we needed to save the enviroment, carbon footprints, pandering to the local greenies. The old guy just complained about the pot holes for 2 minutes. And I don't remember anything the 4th guy said.

The best part of the debate was when the local communist newspaper reporter asked the following question: Who are you going to vote for in the presidential election?
The mayor said: "The democrate of coarse."
The other 3 basically answered the question the same: "It's none of your business who I vote for, and it has absolutly no bearing on the local election.[implying that it was a really stupid question]

I just wish all of this political BS would go away.
