SH4 v1.5 stuttering - here is some help.

Hi All,

My OS. XP Pro
I tried shutting down virus checkers and other files but kept getting a stuttering (hesitation) at 1 sec intervals.

So finally I downloaded a free version of Game XP. Its freeware from
http://www.theorica.net and works very well...stutters are now gone.

This utility turns off all non essential services and can restore them whenever you want.

I been using it on and off for quite sometime. (never had to format etc.)

I hope this temp fix helps someone until a patch comes along.:D

Whath is this "stuttering" you talk about? I have a sound issue that comes when I have used high TC. The noise dissapears when I reload the game. Is it this you talk about?

No, stuttering is when the screen frame pauses (hesitation) at 1 sec intervals. Joe

OK, thanks Vorkapitän. I don´t have that problem. Now I understand. Does anyone else have this sound issue after using high TC?

I ran into this also Sober. Go to START, RUN and type in regsvr32 shimgvw.dll and you thumbnail pics will display like you had before running this program. Some how this program screws with the windows fax and picture program.

I don't know the utility from theorica, but Alacrity works well and no risks:

Here's a wild idea:

Start the game, and while in main menu, Alt-Tab and change the process priority to Above Normal from inside Task Manager. Then go back to the game and see if there are any improvements.

Did a quick test, the results are quite impressive.

PS: this thread should get the sticky mark.

Well it might work on your system but on mine it doesnt . I have a small percieved increase in FPS but the time compression grinds to a halt . I think it might have something to do with me having only 1 gig of ram and the rest of the computer gets worse from there . One day i will upgrade and use that beautiful dynamic fog that i asked for and we got:yep:

ATi releases stuttering fix
