Bloody well right it will!

I am so jealous! :arrgh!:

If you don't believe me, you may also try this site, which tests your system.

I am not actually using it yet as I am ordering the parts at the end of the month i was just checking.

(my first pc build)

Digital_Trucker 03-13-08 05:20 PM

Well, if that system doesn't run it OK for you, I'll trade you my 3200+ Socket A/EVGA 7800GS system for it:rotfl: (it runs it OK, so I would hope your new build would eat the game for lunch and not even burp:up: )

Quillan 03-13-08 05:28 PM

If that system won't run SH4, you may have to upgrade to a Cray! :rotfl:

You should have no problems with that, in fact you should be able to do almost anything with it.

You computer will run this game with three monitors attached. It will dive, plan the attack course, set your torpedoes and fire while you are watching TV. It is capable of taking control of all major ICBM arsenals in the Continental United States. Find primary targets around the globe and when exhausting this task will find secondary targets followed by targets of opportunity. It will them initiate Defcon until all it's demands are met. In the task manager you will see it running in the back ground, flight control for the Space Shuttle. Furthermore, all satellites, foreign and domestic, will be under its control. However, it will not do windows around the house.

Enjoy your rig:up:

Torps 03-13-08 07:51 PM

um heck ya

The more appropriate question would be can you handle the game :hmm:

panzer 49th 03-13-08 08:02 PM

Ok so i should have this by the end of the month to next month maybe.

I would add another gig of memory because you can never have to much. By the way who are you ordering the parts from?

simpliciter 03-13-08 08:40 PM

Oh brother

I hate when people come in and ask if their new computer can run a game thats been out for like a year. Comon dude, you weren't saying that to brag at all even slightly? you can admit it. You damn well know any computer sold as new would run a game that isn't brand new just fine. Since you are building custom you have to know that you are buying decent stuff or you wouldn't bother doing it yourself. You could buy all stuff outdated by a year and still run this game fine. Sorry for the rant. I admit I'm just jealous that I am running on a 1.83ghz with 1gig of ram and an X800. Hey it runs. Just takes forever to load a save game... and the fps suck in port. Otherwise I'm happy! ;)

Enjoy your rig:up:

Just remember if it tryes to launch the nukes the password is Joshua and you need to make it play a game of tic-tac-tow until it realizes war is futile... or something like that. Thank You Wargames

skwasjer 03-13-08 09:41 PM

Be prepared for a higher electricity bill :dead:

Marko_Ramius 03-13-08 09:45 PM

May i say you won't run anything at all ?!!

Why ? ---> Because i don't see any hard disk :rotfl:

More serious, it seem it's a very good rig you will have

Howewer, may i suggest one thing or two :

Do you really need quad-core ?

SH4 will be happy with just two cores, and more important : with the new intel core2 duo, (E8400 @ 3ghz, 6 Megs Cache, for exemple), the cpu will perform better than Q6600 in all apps which is not massively multi-threaded. And i think the E8400 is cheaper.

For the graphic card :

Well, same thing : Do you really need SLI ? SH4 will be ok with only one ; And with the bucks, you can order a more powerfull one.

But it's up to you ; You do what you want with your money

It's ok, simpliciter. Let the man brag a little. We've all wanted to share the joy of a new computer with people who might care. In fact, I insist that you post on here whenever you build your next gaming rig. I promise that I'll be suitably jealous of you, too!

That Windows XP Media Center Edition 64bit is the WORST possible choice.

You should stick to the common OSs: WinXP Pro SP2 32bit or the Vista 32bit.

XP Media Center is a nightmare for programmers as it raises all sorts of stupid exceptions from the usual use cases of an OS, including for the installation.

walrusbomb 03-14-08 07:46 AM

sweet rig. couple of suggestions:

1. dump 2x 8800GT(s), that's a huge waste of money from a price-point perspective. ***ONE*** 8800GTX/768 will EAT your 2x GT(s), and then you're not stuck down the road with two "weak" cards and can buy a second GTX when the prices naturally come down.

2. dump Media Center if you plan on playing games.

3. DO NOT RUN STOCK HEATSINKS (unless you plan on UNDERclocking): get a serious aftermarket CPU and GPU heatsink. Artic Silver 5 grease FTW.

4. Use Prime95, ATITOOL (works with Nvidia), and SPEEDFAN to monitor CPU and GPU temps. You might find you need more casefans! Or just upgrade your case to an ANTEC 900 (such a mighty cool case).

Rockin Robbins 03-14-08 11:13 AM

No

If you want to have a prayer or running SH4 1.4 TMO, SH4 1.4 RFB, SH4UBM and SH3 concurrently on separate monitors you need a stand-alone soundcard to unload your microprocessor for acceptable speed.:rotfl:It might also be helpful not to run Photoshop, Firefox, Excel and avoid doing a rigorous virus scan while you're playing the game(s).

If my system were half that good I'd be a happy camper.
