So why is the Gestapo watching me?
I know that everyone is talking about how paranoid I am :o
Running 1.4 + Commander + GWX I am in Lorient getting ready to start a mission. I decided that instead of plotting my course out of the harbour (Why can’t SH3 have the “start out of port” option that SH4 has?), I decided to have another look around. I had the usual military band and the flock of toothsome nurses throwing flowers at me. Even the guards were waving at me...... <cue sinister music> But not every one seemed to be happy.:nope: Just astern on the quay are two men with black trench coats. They are not waving nor cheering. Just staring at me, smoking. Why am I under suspicion? I am sinking merchants most righteously and representing the service honourably. Why am I being watched? |
I think there was a mod released a little while ago which enabled one to start out of port. Not sure if there is a version for 2.0 though.

What are you talking about? No one is watching you.
Nor is anyone reading your mail. But we know. |
We're all being watched...
Someone tried to poison Herr Fhurer and the only trace they got from the traitor was a stain of torpedo grease on the dish:shifty: Not to mention the chap that always pretends to start up his bike when in fact he stays on the pier giving reports to one of those smoking guys... |

You made me remember those good times! "The truth is out there..." |
They were not watching you...
They were watching Bernard... |
What if instead of Gestapo agents they were actually French Partisans in disguise there to "see you off"? :shifty:
Better have the crew do a close inspection of the boat before you get too far from home! |
Don't look back, never look back

Do you member what that mod was called? Having to maneuver out of harbours ever single time is one thing I really hate about SH3. That much realism I can do without ;) |

Personally I like the plotting of the course and sailing out of harbour - especially Wilhelmshaven. Every time I leave there, or arrive home after a patrol I sail past the Tirpitz and as time and patrols have gone by I have to admit to feeling rather resentful of that massive heap of armour and guns which never seems to leave port while I and my crew have to take huge risks in a U-Boat. I sometimes believe that if I sailed close enough to it during an evening departure, or arrival, I'd hear the clink of cocktail glasses.
I know I volunteered, but ............as the Tommies would say "We should all do our bit, old bean." I've even fantasised about putting a torpedo, or a few rounds from the deck-gun into it - just to wake them up and give them a taste of real action. Needless to say, passing the "great ship" puts me into a nicely aggressive mood at the start of a patrol; so I go a-hunting for something I can take it out on without ending up facing a firing-squad. |

They just wanted to make absolute sure that you didn't ship out without Bernard on board.:D
