This thing got there pretty dang fast.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NybB-yNV0Xc Seems the police are looking for this guy already. -S |
Well he or she did not make the mistake putting on a cheesy smile to the camera at the end of there little film. ;)

Makes me wonder how Jay Leno's jet turbine bike would do on that road? I've never heard what the jet bike's top speed is, but I read it does a quarter mile in ~9 seconds.

God, I saw Joe Walsh in concert:doh:. Darn near 20 years ago. Anyway, if the cops are looking for him they will have a very hard time catching up.

Oh god I hate people like this, they think they're being awesome showing off, but instead make the rest of us bikers look like maniacs...and just give the anti-bike groups enough ammunition to wage a war! Just remember anyone who looks at this thread you may not like bikes a lot but we aren't all maniacs like this! Its a small minority! (I hope anyway!!!)

Well, no, I'm actually pretty sedate most of the time. I don't think most people believe we all ride that fast, and the ones who do believe it aren't worth the trouble of trying to convince otherwise. But y'know, I live in a desert with hundreds of miles of open, empty highways, and sometimes you just...you know...:sunny: |
In 1996 my brother-in-law, was almost killed in an accident. It happen in Denmark(jutlandia) He was about to turn left, when a car from the opposite side of the road crash right into him. What I understand from it then the driver was occupied with something else and didn't see him(my brother-in-law) he also drove to fast(don't know how fast, the speedlimit was 50km/h)
Many times during his stay at the ER he was near death. he was in the hospital for almost 7 month Today he lives well and are stil driving bikes Markus |
Jeezus, that speed was unbelievable. One sneeze and there would have bee bike- and body-parts scattered up the next 1/2 mile of road.:dead:
The jet bike sounded fantastic though.... |
This bike appeals to the pilot in me...
http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/fe.../photo_03.html Although, coz the engine is mounted cross-ways, (or I think the correct term is transverse) one hard rev and you would probably slam it on its right-hand side. This one is in-line and is my favourite: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ID=4609&Page=1    |

Tango589, I read about both of those in Cycle World, but I was hoping for videos. I want to hear how they sound!
|
Two questions; what was the flashing green light? And why did the speedo stop at 189, he was still accelerating?
Yah, that's a pretty crazy thing to do, no way I would go that fast on a public road. |

Wow....thats the epitimy of stupidity if I ever saw it! :damn: I just don't get the "coolness" of riding dangerously. :nope: Imagine if one of those cars changed lanes unexpectedly...like they frequently do from people not looking he would have been turned into mush, not good.

@ Tango589: Thanks for that. Yeah, an 'on-the-road' shot would have been nice, but that told me what I wanted to know. I figured "If a big V-twin sounds so gutsy, would seven or nine of them sound like a WW2 radial fighter?" But I should have known that the pistons would be a lot smaller. Oh, will. Still, would be fun to ride. And be seen on.:sunny: |
I got over 140km on a middle of nowhere road just after new years, my bike (DRZ-250) couldn't go any faster. It wasn't ridiculous speed like this video but you sure get a rush from it.
I crashed about 15 minutes later about 20 metres from the campsite and going under 20km. I got a few good scaps along my arm and shoulder and twisted my ankle pretty badly. I find that funny. :rotfl: |
