Thanks KJM. We'll look into it in the coming days.

What you are describing here, on all counts is lag related and not related to GWX.

It is related to slow internet connections and/or MP host server issues.

uh, the lagg is coused by the 50 or so units (ships, subs and planes), the more you destroy the better the game runns
the coastal arty helped us with it

@BBW
the game loaded with your file, i used a XXI, sand 2 destroyers, the Hood and the Prince of Whales (correct ?) and then it happened
i ordered back flank becouse 4 DD's were heading for me, few seconds after i pressed the button i didnt got a CTD but a reboot of my computer

JKM, the behavior you describe... specifically "enemy ships and planes somhow get pulled backwards while moving forward as if someone pulls a string attached to them from time to time" is directly related to internet lag. Not GWX.

I've experienced the same behavior in other multiplayer games that were far less advanced, and far more "busy" than SH3/GWX is.

It is a symptom of the vagaries of internet bandwidth allocation and the transmitted data packet. Nothing more, mate.

If your puta crashed/rebooted, then the problem isn't GWX or even SH3. Its either a bad driver, or bad hardware. Possibly bad memory, or maybe overheating.

probaly the last :p

anyways, Kpt Lehman, may i suggest looking at the behavor (correct ?) of the avenger.. it swirls, drops down, bounces up, crashes in the sea and bounces up again

aslo i still get pinged even when all DD's are kaput and while im far away from the place they sunk

when you look from northeast to southwest the smoke, flags and aircraft proppellors disapear

These matters were all experienced in multiplayer setting right?

(MP is so quirky... it does our heads in.)

thats correct sir, dont have seen a avenger in career yet, although i must say im verry impressed how you made the new bombers... at first it looks like they already are out of bombs... but dont believe that trick :dead:

This is a MP bug but it's very random. I have seen it on other mods but have never seen it in a full campaign. LOL, in MP I have even seen a partially sunk DD start to sink at the stern, jump forward, sink, jump etc...... MP is just plain weird.

Kpt. Lehmann 12-13-07 05:10 AM

Another quirk about MP play in SH3 (and also in GWX as a result of SH3) IIRC... the propellors on ships do not rotate.

@KJM, regarding the aircraft bombs... some are wing-mounted and others are stored internally. In a perfect world, we could animate the bomb-bay doors snapping open to reveal the eggs!

Also, if you'd like to observe the Avenger aircraft's flight characteristics in game, just load the regular non-MP mission "U-505." It has Avengers in it... and they fly normally.

GWX2.0 Career Crash

I just had my 1st crash with GWX2.0.

I had just finished off a medium cargo ship with my deck gun; (1st ship sunk during career). I went to the crew management screen and saw I had one crew member in the forward torpedo room with a red exclaimation mark; I moved him to get rested. Next I clicked on "surface cruise mode" and that was the end of everything. Next, the screen went to my desk top, and after about 10 seconds I received an "error has occurred" window. "Do you want to send a report?"

Yep, that's a stock/original bug. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

We can't fix it but you can avoid it by doing it manually i.e surface & move your WO.

KJM,

Just a question on your MP crashes.
Are you play online by yourself or with others?
If you are playing with others you should make sure that you ALL have the excate same setup or a CTD is bound to happen at some time in game or in the loading of the game.

As the Kpt and the other GWX devs have stated already MP is the most weridest part of SH3 and is full of little quriks. It is the price we pay for MP being a last minute addition to the game before it was realesed.

Anvart 12-13-07 01:36 PM

May be all MP players must to have installed GWX 2.0 ...? :hmm:
