Your favorite Boat?
Granted that the types are more representative of design evolution, but still, im pretty sure we all have our favorites.
Personally, theres one thing i love about ALL of them. No externally stored torpedos! I do not miss that at all! :rotfl: |
I really love the Balao..
Those beautifull lines.. the conning tower.. 10 torpedo tubes.. Just my kind of boat ! :arrgh!: |
Until I get the priveledge to sail a Balao class boat, the Gato class are the ones for me.
The USS Drum and her crew are a top notch group, and [fictionally] im proud to serve with them. |
I like the Balao a lot, but I am also partial to the S boats.
In my next career I'm going to try to stay in an S for the whole war. |
For fecks sake where's the bloody option for all of them. :stare: :hulk:
I like them all. ;) :sunny: |
I like anthing with Sugar in it. S Boat all the way:yep:
|
My first choice would be the T class, specifically the USS Tambor (SS-198). She was my first command way back in the PTC1. Second choice would be the USS Seawolf.

The Sugar Boat grows on you after awhile :yep:

Like the Gato and Balao class. Well really any type as long as it dives, comes back up again and I can sink a few floaters with her.
|
I'm a bit fond of the Salmon-class myself. Not too easy to use, but not too difficult either. A reasonably sweet ride in my book
|
There's something about the one Salmon-class that was able to sink two battleships in one night that just makes it special. That and the incredible escape I was able to pull off in horrible wheather, flanking it on the surface with severe electric engine damage. Go-go no japanese radar!

Gato Class
|
I voted Balao but I also have a keen liking for the Gato class. I'm too tall for the Sugar boats.
|
|
Balao, I'm just not hardcore enough for the Sugars!!
|
S
SS SSS The more primitive the better. In SH3 I love the Type IIs. I would love to sail on an original Holland boat. CSS Hunley I'm not so sure about; 100% loss rate is not so appealing. Turtle might be fun. |
I'm a Gato man, myself.
|
I was always fond of a nice wooden 18ft. 1950 Chris Craft Riviera myself

Well if I have to go for one let it be the Gato Class.
|
Balao , twould be cool to get one modded with the fairwaters like
the fictitious "Stingray" in Down Periscopehad. then we could get soundbites made from the movie to cover the dive sequence and we could model a Blonde female dive officer. |
