Topic - I remember watching this on telly, powerful stuff.

The BBC has been rapped over the knuckles on more than one occasion for giving more air time too the Labour party and a lot less for the Conservatives and Liberal party's.

Aye, I remember hearing something like that. my only thought was "Well, who's been in government for the last ten years?". There's probably more news coming out of Labour than either the Tories. When both sides accuse you of favouring the other, then you're doing something right :)
On the Balen Report, they are technically in the right. Since the report falls under purposes of journalism, they have no obligation to publicise it under FOI. I think that they're only hurting themselves by keeping it secret, but thats opinion as opposed to law.

I hoped for reactions from some neocons (or don't we have them) here?

I heared for Firefox there is a tool by which you can save youtube-videos onto your HD. Is something like that available for IE7, too?

You never know. Anyway saw this on the telly I am a fan of the Beeb myself (and the CBC) they usually have good documentaries.

1. What's the difference between Labour and Tories today? I know Labour was once a social democrat party, but from the foreign viewpoint, it simply seemed to me that Blair continued what Thatcher did in both economic and foreign policy and wasted a lot of money on Millenium domes and stupid PR campaigns. 2. Are there neocons here? I can think of a lot of americans i would rate as conservative, but Neocons per se are a very small circle, not a mass ideology. Keep in mind that neocons were former leftists...:D 3. The documentary does have some points. Many of the security laws passed in western nation seem to be aimed at the average citizen, rather than at these highly organized, professional terrorist networks that actually perpetrated most of the high profile terrorist attacks like 911.

I agree for sure with that point. Now we can't even fly with aftershave or toothpaste ... yea that will prevent terrorism. A friend was taking two tubes of pate sandwich spread for his daughters, on holiday in the US, that they can't get there. He forgot to pack it in the luggage only to have them confiscated at security. Some guard got a nice lunch the next day I guess. :lol:

That's the second reason why I installed Firefox. I'm using both IE7 and Firefox now. The first reason was because the Vundo virus/trojan/thingie made it impossible for me to use IE to even search for help in Google. But I don't think there is such a thing for IE. A reason why I didn't uninstall IE is because Firefox has alot more settings and thus compatibility issues. I can't access 3 websites I visit daily or day in day out without noticing from a minor formatting issue to a complete failure. This may be my fault for not configuring Firefox properly, but why should I waste time doing so when I can fire up IE and see everything correctly without touching anything? Plus, the VATSIM "add-on" Vroute can be installed very easily if you have IE.

So I don't understand those "IE vs Firefox" battles anymore because I need both: firefox to download .flv videos off websites, IE to make sure I can view any website anytime I want or need without having to fiddle with settings.

Maybe I reinstall firefox then for just that prupose of downloading videos. Do you have a link for that save-youtube-video-thing, please? It is not part of the default package, as far as I remember

I use vixy.net for that. It allows you to save the audio seperately also. Nice tool

Just copy the youtube link into keepvid and she'll start the DL

your need FLV player which is free download on that site. Then all you do is open up FLV player and drag the keepvid DL file into it and it starts playing. Sometimes you have to rename the file to whatever eg: myvid.FLV for it to play.
