Just curious, but who haven't moved on to SH4?

Anyone? :hmm:

Or have bought a copy of SH4 and hated it and went right back to SH3?

Personally, I have both but I find it tedious to refamiliarize myself with a new sub game. In SH3, I knew the places, controls and tactics almost by heart.

I have yet to start learning to play SH4 properly and remember the places well enough.

I don't know why but I feel I don't have the energy for it anymore.

Why go? The fatherland needs you! ;)

Solidfart 07-19-07 06:18 AM

When SH4 works then I'll start to play it. Or if someone fixes it. GWX guys?;)

ichso 07-19-07 06:21 AM

When SH4 works as good as SH3 now and when I finally have a PC to run it properbly then it will be out as a low price budget version. Then I will complete my Silent Hunter compilation :)

Never left & don't intend to.:yep:

SH IV is somewhere on the shelf, collecting dust....played it a few times, but it hasn't captured like SH III did (even when stock!)...

I might start playing it someday, but for now I really couldn't care less.

U-boats all the way.....

That's Ubi's own fault when they don't publish any demo versions ;).

I don't like demos, often they differ from the final product and don't show everything. I can't imagine SH demo...

I bought the deluxe version, but it's not working well on my machine, so I've got to buy a new one first (new graphic card, more memory), so far the game works but too slow. Seems to be quite good, SHIV, but for the moment I'm playing SH3GWX1.03 and am very satisfied.

Just checked it out, good point "They have to eat too, you know." but in this particular example I would love to have SH4 box on my shelve next to SH3 but also I would be pissed as hell if I would bought such a "great product" to dump it into trash. I have to eat too so I should start selling crap to people naming it best subsim ever? This is my POV and EOT.

Not gone yet and do not plan to anytime in the near future. Going to wait until the patches catch up and settle the game down to where it is playable. Then, going to have to upgrade my computer just so I can play it...

THEN going to wait until the GWX team does their thing and really makes it shine

Well I got SH4 Patched to 1.3 and enjoying it. OK, it's like the old stock SH3 with ships sinking to fast but it's still good and in another year or two a Dev Team will do to it what the super mods did to SH3.

PS: I play both SH3 & SH4 so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. :p

xboxer 07-19-07 07:20 AM

In a fresh from the box version of SH4, the developers really don't deserve to be paid at all.

But since 1.3 has been getting rave reviews, I'm willing to give it another shot. I don't know if I'm going to get my money's worth from SH4, I'm only on the first patrol. But I am optimistic.

SH3 has definitely given me my money's worth.

maillemaker 07-19-07 07:27 AM

I've got so many hours of time left in SHIII before I'm bored with it I can't imagine buying another game yet.

JuanCudz 07-19-07 07:28 AM

There's no way I'm heading for the Pacific unless 'The Lion' gives me a type IXD2 and sends me to Penang.
GWX:FTW!

Captain Nemo 07-19-07 08:01 AM

I haven't bought SHIV primarily because I am enjoying SHIII/GWX too much. The other reason is I would most probably have to upgrade my graphics card to make SHIV playable and I just can't be bothered with that at the moment. I agree with others on this forum that the Battle of the Atlantic is a much more challenging campaign than the Pacific. Having said that, it was Silent Service on the Commodore 64 which was set in the Pacific that got me into sub sims in the first place.

I can name a few guys that will not agree with you.
still whatever you have on your hard drive just keep it for yourself and dont bother to share if it breaks the rules.
