If you have ever wondered how it was to leave SUBSIM melodramatically, pantomimically or with a simple "bye", this is your chance to discover.

Well, bradclark1, I have been around here long enough to know that most, if not all of the individuals who leave this forum end up returning after saying a lot of things that they didn't mean in their 'farewell' threads. They are usually angry about something that someone said to them and are pretty hot when they post. Afterwards, they end up returning and having a lot of apologizing to do. My locking the threads are a service to those members, who may leave and then return without having to answer for a lot of nonsense. If people would think before posting, I wouldn't have to do so much of that. Of course, if people would think before posting, my position would not be necessary at all.

I've seen better good-byes from people than this. Your suppose to pour out all of your frustrations and anger in here saying good-bye.

Then go over to the welcome back thread and say you are sorry ... pleading to please take you back.
The real thing is fun to watch, because it's sincere soap opera at it's best.

I really am leaving for a while. I don't know how long (it will be longer than 24 hours, though), and I'll stop by occasionally. I may come back, I may not, it all depends.

The attitudes displayed in this thread is exactly the reason why I usually avoid the general topics forum. Plus all anyone ever does here on subsim is complain about one thing or another. The modding forums are rife with pissing contests, people who think everything is a pissing contest, righteous do-gooders who think they're innocent of all, and noobs with idiotic questions a single keyword in the forum search or google might have solved! Plus people love make mountains out of molehills, turning the most trivial issues into scandals. Some people take words out of context and see everything as an attack on their own ego. In fact, it's the big egos I'm sick of, people who think they're sooo important, that they're opinion is the only opinion, and their refusal to be convinced by anyones argument, no matter how sound it may be, in favour of biggoted and antiquated beliefs that they have clung to for decades.

But this thread takes the cake, and is the culmination about everything I despise about this place... nothing but bitching and moaning, making fun of serious issues and throwing of insults every which way. The sheer amount of complainers and the general negativity is the worst. This is what the subsim forum has degenerated into, and I for one am going to have no further part in it! :nope:

I'm leaving subsim for good, and leaving you idiots and degenerates behind.
