[REL] High detail lighthouse...
 
Well I got bored and made a quick little mod that adds a new more detailed lighthouse to SH3…

Really good work!!! You are one of the best "eyecandy producers" for SH3, and the best is, that you give your artwork to everyone!!!!:rock: :rock:

But pleaaaase would you be so kind to release a version with red/white colour?!
In my opinion that is "the" colour for lighthouses.:up: :up:

Well, it looks nice, but I can see that it's built inside the harbour_kit.dat!

Would it be possible to have as lighthouse2.dat ?

I mean so that one could have it as single lighthouses to place around the world...
Also because the SH4 harbour mod modifies this harbour_kit.dat as well....

Since you asked nicely here`s a red/white version (you`ll need to download the original as this only contains the texture)......

+I dont think its possible to give the lighthouse a totally seperate .dat although i guess i could create a new land unit type.
I suppose you could just import it into your existing harborkit.dat file using pack3d, that way you wouldnt overwrite any other mods that change this file.

May I ask how much of a frame rate hit in harbour this mod makes,it looks truely wonderful but I already get a bit of stuttering in harbour so,can I do it:hmm:

The reason while I asked was also because Sergbuto had succes with extracting the original lighthouse as a lonely building to place in the game, so I wonder, if it could be done again with this one! Maybe you could ask him!?

nikbear: to be honest there seems virtually no performance hit even on my old slow pc,
maybe a slightly longer load time as the texture is around 12mb (2048**).
Its roughly the equivalent of adding a couple of ships to your harbor (approx 20k polys)

the warning in the readme is playing it safe and really only applies to folks who are below the minimum spec.
