error help

I keep getting this eror which means once i click ok it shuts down SH4 anyone know how to resolve this?

Error message is simply: Error X3539: PS_1_X

I believe that it is a pixel shader error... most likely your video card does not support Pixel Shader 2.0. What kind of video card do you have?

Also, re-installing DirectX is worth a try.

Kapitan 04-29-07 03:27 PM

Not 100% sure but what do i need to make it run?

Herr Karl 04-29-07 03:44 PM

Go to control panel for your computer, click on display, go to settings tab, click on advanced down in the right hand corner. once there click on the adaptor tab. It will show the card on this page.

thats good advice but that will only tell you what video card your os (windows) thinks you have installed.

The only way to be certain is to either find the bill of materials for your particular machine or take the cover off, pull the card, and look at it.

The latter is more or less 100% correct.

Hopefully windows will agree with the visual conformation.

Then you can check the manufacturers website, get the latest drivers, and install them.

ive had a new card installed since then so .... i didnt get a bill as it wasnt exactly what you call straight either.

You can still pull it out and look at it.

My OS was never wrong with the cards I have installed. I do not think this will be an issue here on this one either.

Kapitan 04-30-07 04:07 PM

it says READON 9200 :S

Herr Karl 04-30-07 04:17 PM

Here you can update your driver(s).

PeriscopeDepth 04-30-07 04:26 PM

I don't think your card is up to snuff Kap. I think the 9200 only has support for up to pixel shader 1.4, but I may be wrong.

PD

Kapitan 04-30-07 04:27 PM

Thanks updating now

Yeah, that's what I found too. It's suppose to be a better card @ 256mb.

Need at least a 2.0 pixel shader...1.4 just doesn't sound right.

Let us know if a driver update helps Kapitan.

Kapitan 05-01-07 05:49 AM

Updated the driver and nothing still comes up with error.

PeriscopeDepth is correct... You need at least a Radeon 9600 to play this game because the 9200 series does not support pixel shader 2.
  • Video Card: 128 MB RAM DirectX® 9–compliant, video card capable of rendering Pixel Shader 2.0 (256 MB RAM recommended) (see supported list*)
*Supported Video Cards:
ATI® RADEON® 9600/9700/9800, X300 to X850, X1300 to X1800
NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6200/6600/6800/7800

Kapitan 05-01-07 02:23 PM

where could i get it or download something to be able to play it?

PeriscopeDepth 05-01-07 02:32 PM

You need to install one of the supported video cards (a video card is a piece of hardware you need to buy, you can't just download something) into your computer. I'd go for at least a 7600GT on the nVidia side, other people could recommend ATI if that's your flavor. You will also need at least a gig of RAM and 2+ Ghz PIV for it to be playable.
