Good site for dling most of the mods for SH...actually found that before SumSim
|
And a real friend of the community, too :yep:
Don't worry about him, he's done a lot of good things for SHIII modders, advocating for them through a crisis when a certain company decided to steal mods and publish them as part of a paid expension. His site even has a policy that mods downloaded from there cannot be used for profit without explicit permission from original authors, which can potentially help catching some of the sharks if it does happen. His site is always a great place to get mods, and he certainly has the most complete collection of em for SHIII. Some of the ads on his site can get a little annoying, but hey, the hosting is costing. Great guy. PS - as far as credit, you do have a readme in your mod, correct? If so, I don't see the problem. Besides, Terrapin wouldn't be one to take anyone's credit, people know him too well... :88) |
Terrapin's got a long history helping simmers. I first met him thru the Falcon 4.0 community where he constantly volunteered use of his servers for various hosting needs. Unfortunately, he was also a regular target for hackers and leeches and know that some of those activities cost him a great deal of money. That he's continued to provide those services to other communities only goes to show how dedicated he is to helping out simmers wherever he can.
Beers to you, Martin....you're a first class guy. |
No more no less. :D :yep:

A good guy

just stumbled over this while transferring 150 Megs HOT stuff to my servers... Just to make things clear: IF there's any readme in a SH4 file, it will be published in the appropriate readme database at UBRS.... a quick search for 'AG124' returned 15 matches, I'm pretty sure your readmes are there, too. If you'd like to have your files removed, just contact me through the form at UBRS.:) |

In RL I've experienced too much theft of my own IP (aaah.. intellectual property) to attack others in this way: Can't count how often my stories and photos were reprinted without permission (and, logically, without paying me any fees). The costs of sueing IP thieves aswell as the time you need to invest are not worth the effort, at least for a freelancing media worker in the EU (I tested it once, tested it twice, ran out of time and money.) |
Hey "terrapin" alles klar ;) Thanks for a great site and a hell of a job man!
But where is all the old SH3 mods? I was looking yesterday and could not find so much stuff. Mostly sound mods and mod packs... |

The server hosting the old DLC DATABASE (not the actual files) was cancelled in Dec 06 by the CEO of Domainfactory.eu without ever letting me know why. And because the db script doesn't run properly on my other existing servers, I had to implement a new one (showing the current DLC at the frontend): I have to re-enter all file data manually, and unfortunately this is an enormous task. It'll take a while, but all SH3 files, videos etc. will appear again. No timeline - whenever there's time I work on the db. Please be patient... |
...and to answer the thread title question...
here's a pic of mine from the long gone crazy F4 SP days...:D
are the community thieves over there at Frugal's still around?:damn::nope: |

That was more a rhetorical question. I meant the 'most famous' guys - just have a look at any credit list of the late SP. Back to important things! ;) |
