My New Car

Thanks to my Gran leaving me some money, I've finally been able to buy a car I've always wanted.

She's called Eve (after Gran) and I now enjoy driving again.

Drive it to America. I'll give the tires a good kickin'.

Too bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Maybe you can get that fixed one of these days

<ducking>

Nice looking car!

The spare tire doesn't take up much room does it Robbo ...

but that's a great first car ... drive safe now :yep:

I went to this mechanic (I live in America) and he had 2 mini's parked behind where the spare tire changes are kept. They were original Mini's from the 60s.

Torpedo Fodder 04-11-07 10:56 PM

My mechanic has two original Minis on his property. One is in excellent condition (though not currently drivable), while the other has rust and other weather damage to both the body and chassis, but he's in the process of restoring it (he had to replace the rear subframe, for example. I don't know where he got it, but the replacement part looked brand new).

Done in 5 seconds with a simple JPEG editor. :know:

what a lovely car!

I dont care how powerful they make em these days, nothing tops a nice car like a mini. they dont make em like they used to.

And if anyone wants to try and change my mind by giving me a nice new car to erm test drive...... feel free!:smug:

robbo180265 04-12-07 01:51 AM

Took me a while to find the screenwash bottle and battery(they're in the boot with the spare wheel)

I've been driving cars for years now just not been able to afford a mini in such good condition, they go for quite a bit over here especially the old shape. She really is a dream to drive (like a go-kart) and such fun too:up:

Edit: And yes, we may drive on the wrong side of the road - but we were doing it first;)

Yup nice ride robbo, oh and Danlisa not only you but the Aussies, Kiwis and Japanese drive the (wrong) left side. I have it on good authority the Newfies drove on the left before they smartened up and joined us on the "right" side after confederation. :p

jumpy 04-12-07 05:09 AM

Nice.

All you need to do now is chop off the front subframe and ditch the engine and front wings/bonnet. Then get yourself a 2L vauxhall 'red top' engine and new subframe kit to go with it and you have an uber hybrid mini  that'll be good for about 0-60 in under 5 seconds.... just watch out fot the torque steer

You always wanted a little red box with wheels?:rotfl:

No, really, it's cool. Cars are good, no matter what they say.:sunny:

kiwi_2005 04-12-07 12:06 PM

Wow a Mini mina way to go man:up:

Classic

geetrue 04-12-07 12:16 PM

The Aussies drive on the right side of the car, bus and truck so they can see the edge of the road better ...

It's a matter of life or death down there I hear ...
