I'm dissapointed in BDU!!!!

I'm dissapointed in the BDU!!!!

After starting another career, with U36, and having a superb patrol, sinking 5 cargo ships and a tanker, totalling to just over 40,000 tons in my first patrol.....i get back to port to recieve absolutley nothing!!!! except a crappy promotion!!! no medals!!!!

but yes, they'll give Iron Cross 2nd's out to my friggin crew won't they!! but not the man who commands the boat  Its a sad day when a captain has less medals, than the men he commands!!!!!:nope:

Also, i'm a bit pipped at the ineptitude of my crew to hold the boat at a steady depth in calm waters. I ordered them to go to 180 meters when we had a destroyer come a knocking.....and they can't hold it steady, the boat slowly begins to sink deeper and deeper, forcing me to take control of the dive....sorta. This a bug on the part of GWX??

other than that......great first patrol  i'll probably never have a first patrol as good as that one!!! :)

Screw Bdu there arse is not on the front line.

Brag 04-03-07 05:33 PM

What do you expect from office pogues?

But they are good at giving you the Tchwaaang  :/\\chop when you screw up.

danurve 04-03-07 05:37 PM

I'm with Steed on this one.

Use Commander, I only use the in-game system for the most part when I need new recruits and want to promote a po to lt. If we could do that with commander - pffft.

From your comment it looks like your playing GWX v1.02....your boat will sink a couple of metres deeper than your chosen depth whilst at a standstill....THIS IS NO BUG, :nope: IT IS INTENDED U-BOAT BEHAVIOUR :yep:
Download v1.03 and you will find less likelihood of the aforementioned  :arrgh!:

gord96 04-03-07 05:40 PM

same thing happened to me. sunk 55000 tons and rolled into port expecting a IC 1st class to go along with my 2nd class. Nope. Nothing. But one of my crew earned the IC 1st class. :(

Quit the bitchin' boys. This is war! BdU has more pressing things to do than worry about giving medals to men who will be dead in a week. You want medals join the Luftwaffe.

There should be an official GWX optional mod already in the mods folder which you can enable with JSGME to change it.

Jimbuna 04-03-07 06:22 PM

The optional medals mod in GWX is designed to stop your crewmen wearing/displaying them whilst on patrol/at sea :arrgh!:

the clanking of medals is verboten during silent running :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jimbuna 04-03-07 08:36 PM

The only medals I ever got were 'dinner medals' :rotfl:

Platapus 04-03-07 08:56 PM

on my eleventh patrol I was assigned, what I thought, was an unrealistic mission. Wilhelmstaven to the lower west coast of Africa (please!) so I sailed out of port and hit escape jus to see what happened.

Not only did not get in to trouble but I was awarded another knights cross... fer doing nutton. I was then able to get another mission area a bit more realistic.

I wonder if the captian's awards are random or assigned by patrol number.

Exactly... it makes the Reich look bad when ever they lose someone who was a distinguished hero... best keep the men that are marked for an early grave far away from the publics eye

High Voltage 04-03-07 10:32 PM

I don't know about you guys, but i plan on living forever...
I have no intention of docking at the big port-in-the-sky.
If you are having problems with your medals, give me a call and I'll see what i can do for you. Onkel Karl owes me a favor from that time with those two french young ladies and their "apparently" absent father...

Don't use SH3Cmdr to assign your own patrol grid :nope:
Keep pressing the 'Esc' button then sail down to Cadiz and wighe in all that tin...they reckon it fetches a crackin price  :arrgh!:

I don't use SH3Commander any more. The one thing I did like was being able to assign patrol areas. I find the GWX patrols to be sometimes a bit unrealistic concerning their distance.
