The mods in GWX...what do they do???
I've just been frustratingly trying to use the useless search engine for this forum...so forgive me if the answers are somewhere obvious.
I would like to know what the mods which come with GWX do. Only about 4 of them are explained in the manual and the most obvious ones at that. So please a recap: The mods in GWX: -No medals on crew: Makes it so the crew don't wear their medals on their uniform. Right? -16 km atmosphere: You/you crew can see up to 16 km. Yes? -Captain Americas officer icons: Replaces the icons of your various stations to a general picture of the station. Right? -English nav map and grid refs: Instea of German names on the grid it replaces it with English. Right? -Fix French: What does this do?? -Integrated orders: What does this do? -Late war sensors snorkel antenna: This is in the manual...just can't remember what it does. Anyone? -Lite harbor traffic: What does this do?-Main Movie -Das Boot: This just changes the "film" at the start of GWX...the one in the menu. Right? |
I think the 1.02 manual describes what they do better than the original manual, just incase you haven't seen it.
Take a look, if you haven't seen it yet. I'm at work and haven't looked at it lately and I'm headed home, so maybe somebody else will spend a few extra moments to explain, but I'm off, for now. :) |
No I haven't...I still have the previous version...and I printed out the manual...all 170 odd pages. Was it really necessary to make a new manual just for a different version?

Ok, update...I've used Google to search. So...
Lite Harbor traffic is for people with slow computers and lightens the harbor traffic...pretty obvious. So all I need to know is what does "fix french" do and "integrated orders"? Anyone? |
Fix French - Fixes the French translation for ppl who use the French language ingame Intergrated orders - Adds extra icons to your crews orders so you can play using the mouse more rather than the keyboard |

and yes fixfrench is very useful for some of my friends who don't speak german nor english! Merci pour votre extraordinaire boulot les gars! |
Youch Einbaum! If one little emoticon sets you on edge, what's gonna happen when you have three black swans and 2 DD's pinging your ass like a cheap tambourine?? Adjust "Sensitivity" settings and you'll be fine...

Does lite traffic affect neutral/enemy ports or just yours? I don't really care about ships in Brest and wouldn't mind saving myself some FPS, but if I feel inclined to visit Portsmouth or something, I would like some action.

Gosh I thought RTFM was pretty tough:rotfl: :rotfl:
Use the mod enabler with GWX to start or stop the mods. |

All other enemy ports remain the same |

Wait, I was told that Lite Harbor reduced traffic in ALL ports.
You mean to tell me it only reduces the traffic in my port? That'd be worth it if it means I can use TC more to get out of port instead of constantly getting hassled by "Ship Spotted!" or having my radar pick up stuff for longer during that later war years. You're sure it's only traffic in player harbors? |
Yes its only player ports
You can still raid enemy prts if you want as that shipping isnt reduced  |

Yes, I'm afraid it was necessary. As Kpt. Lehmann pointed out, this manual is a living document and will continue to evolve as we better describe not only the existing content of GWX but also new content that is added with each release. The current release (V1.02) adds more than 100 pages of additional descriptions, etc., of GWX materials that we just didn't have time to include while meeting the V1.00 release in December 2006. The next release (V1.03) will add about 20-30 more pages over the V1.02 Manual, and will have more than 300 pages. Unfortunately we aren't ready to issue "change pages" yet; perhaps in the future when the manual content settles down. In general, you are probably better off if you view the manual on your screen rather than on paper; however, for the folks who like paper we will now generate a "printer-friendly" version that omits the background art and thus may save a bit on the toner and ink needed to print it out.
