Where do you think GWX would be the best place for download?
I personally like rapidshare.com

Rapidshare maybe ok for the update
It has a 100mb limit
Plus its down more than its up and files are available for only 7 - 30 days

The update will probably be on most of the choices in your poll

The team has done a good job of spacing the downloads to all coners of the world, so all members can access the files. Some members carry the links in there sigs, while others place them on the web sites.

For me "Filefront" is my choice of upload & download site. It dosn't have time limits for hosting and the setup is user friendly.

I'm not a fan of Rapid Shi#, because alot of the old mods (still awsome) where hosted on this site, and are now dead :shifty:.

If you use premium rapidshare, it's there unless YOU delete it!
If you use free, it's there for 30 days from LAST download!:know: :smug:

This was done when the original GW was released. Neal's bandwidth went through the roof and so did his bandwidth charges.

Judging by the huge amount of downloads of GWX in only the first couple of months since release, I would rather save on Neal's bandwidth and keep Subsim.:yep: It's not cheap running this for us.:up:

Free file hosts are the way to go and GWX had many more locations to d/l from than GW did. Kudos to the uploaders who spent hours online to get as many mirros as possible.

Now if anyone has a premium membership with the likes of Rapidshare then you would be more than welcome to mirror the files.;)

But as many have said, GWX is free & the work has been done for free. The dev's have given up their time to bring this to us, I for one do not want them to give up any cash to host the files.

You can get past the download limit by switching your router off and on, asuming your not on a fixed ip...

Just one of many thoughts.....Your ISP has and does exercise their right to monitor/log all account traffic :yep:

I can apreciate the sentiment, but its really not a problem for my isp or even other users of my isp. Out of the many thousands of users only 100 may wish to download from that site and very few if any would hit an already used ip. If they did a reboot would likely fix thier problem.

So it only affects rabidshare and Im still going to download the same ammount of data only having to wait longer. (so the effect to them is marginal too)

I got my version off Gameshadow. It was listed as a recommended mod. Good D/l speed too, about 700kbs. I don't know if you guys had to pay to put it up on there or not but was painless to get it off.

May I take this opportunity to thank the modders for the release too. It's freakin awesome!
