Australian Bases
Just what Australian bases will be in the stock game? They used to refit in Fremantle and Brisbane, they used to refuel/provision in Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Broome.
Which, if any of these places, will be included? |
Fremantle for sure & Brisbane highly likely
"Approximately 170 American, British and Dutch submarines made a total of 416 war patrols out of Fremantle Submarine Base during WW2."
You guys know where we can get some decent beer? Anybody know any Sheilas? |
|
Take it easy MATES' there will be what there was...Don't feel left out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ane/comp26.gif
|
should read "take it easy fellas"
mate is only used as singular except when referring to the group in a manner such as this: "got a few mates comin over for a coupla quiet ones n some cricket". when speaking TO a bunch of fellas, you just dont say mates it just doesnt quite gel. tough language, australian.. |
Root me thong, you lot sound like a bunch of chooks. Youse can all come Down Under as long as you keep your sticky mitts off our sheilas, give us the aussie salute every now and then, try not to go troppo and sink more than just a few slabs and Bondi cigars.
|
I hope your chooks turn into emus and kick your dunny down
|
Getting back to the topic.....;)
I hope that Sydney is included, even if it wasn't used as a base. I want to go sailing under the Habour Bridge!!! If I want to be evil, I could shell Sydney like the the Japanes did! |

:rotfl: :rotfl:
I still remember a trip to france a few years back, where i stayed with a french family in Paris for a few nights. Got out the jar of vegimite n a spoon, n told em to tuck in... the taste of austraya!:rotfl: |
My brother who now lives in usa gets the vegemite out and his american wife dry retches .
|
It's actually the same product as industrial petroleum grease. They bottle it for different markets. :yep:
|
You people use it wrongly, first of all, it ain't jam (jelly if you're a yank) so don't spread it so thickly.
Secondly, they used it for greasing the fish in uboats. That wasn't grease on the rag that Hit Lt Werner in Das Boot, it was vegemite. He didn't run off upset either, he ran off to suck the flavour out, and wipe his face with bread |
So... if I'm docked at an Australian base am I allowed to hire on locals? Could use an extra hand to toss another shrimp on the barbie in the galley.

Just don't use Brisbane dock workers, otherwise you'll still be there when the war ends!:yep:

Vegemite defiantly needs to be used thin spread untill you develop a taste for it.
Make 2 pieces of toast and butter it, spread the vegemite so thin its just a brown colour and it mixes in with the butter, any thick black spots will be too strong untill your used to it. press the toast together to make a sandwith and enjoy hot. Edit: Ps dont burn the toast, thats just wrong, light brown FTW Now tell me thats not an orgy in your mouth, huh huh ? Lovely stuff /cheff mode off I sailed up the swan river in sh3, but perth and fremantle werent there, Im sure they will be in Sh4, I bet you a vegemite sandwitch ! |

Got to love it!!! |
The bet is that they will be in Sh4...not GWX Sh3...I will keep the sandwich for now :)
I think some american subs sailed from freo so say 80% chance it will be there... I only went there in sh3 stock and possibly tgw 1.1 or whatever the first version was, havent looked in GWX, will have to have a peek. Edit: Mind you I didnt put a full stop in there so you are sort of right. |
Do I get a share of the sandwich? (50/50);)
I've already pre-ordered by copy of SH4 (Commanders ed, with pen![Australian]), my computer waits for it, knowing that it will get no rest!! I just realized, this is the first game I've bought whne it's released, not when it's a couple of months down the line or being floged on Flea Bay:hmm: |
