I love GW but..........

Unfortunately, GW makes my SH3 to run slow and there's yellowish collor to the horizon on the water. I am afraid to report that I might switch back RUB 1.45 with ht 1.47. Does anyone know if I can keep the awesome GW and have my SH3 to run normal? I hate to lose it.

If you are using the 16 km atmosphere mods, switch to the 8km version.

Due to system limitations, I have to run the 8km Atmosphere mod myself.

What you are describing sounds really odd to me.

If you post your system specs, it will likely help shed some light on the issue.

There are lots of good guys in this forum that can help you adjust things.

Don't give up the ship just yet. :ping:

Also, check the GW sticky thread as we resolve problems... IE the Seafloor issue solved there! :yep:

BINGO!!!

Get another 512 stick of RAM and have your computer guy dual channel it in BIOS.

Your specs are below the "Recommended" level for Silent Hunter III.

I'm sorry about that, but it isn't a GW problem.

I'm also not familiar with that particular video card.

Recommended specs for Silent Hunter III call for 256 mb video cards.

More RAM won't hurt your pocket-book too much... and will fix many other problems you may be having too.

When it comes to "Recommended Specs" for Silent Hunter III... they really should have said "Mandatory Specs."

I'm sorry about that JayW. :(

Are you sure you're not using the 16km version? There really is no reason GW with 8km should slow you down. If anything, you might want to go back to default seafloor textures also included as an option in there :hmm:

Otherwise, there really isn't any reason there should be any serious slowdowns with the 8km version.

Ugh. Realuboatsimulation.net is down and I need part 2 of GW for the mods.

You can also do what i've done,Go to Control Panel and Create a new user acont in user aconts option, and on that user don't install any of the programs that take out your Ram, like Net, Anti Virus, firewall, you know dose major programs that are Ram burners!

So that way you use that User just to play the games you whant!

I've done that, and mi sistem is equal to your's....

I had the same problem sh3 slowed down to a snail and then ctd,so I was going to give it 1 more go before reverting back but this time around instead of onstalling it via JSME which doubled the size of sh3 to nearly 4.9gig I just over rode the original files (i know big risk) left some stock files in I think i left 4 in and it works a dream.

1 GB RAM, 6600 GT, Sempron 2000+ * as for the CPU, might be tuned up to 2500... *

Do you think you could elaborate a little on the "dual channel in BIOS" part. I´d like to give that a go on my computer, if feasible.

I just experimented with 16 m and 8 m graphics. With the 8 m, the control room, the camera view and the crew move with no problem but in the bridge view, everything moves in a jerkly motion. With 16 m, both place s had the same problem. I guess I need a 4 m.

Mostly interesting... perhaps I`ll try out such version. Grey Wolves would be soo cool if there were no slowdowns. They`re VERY annoying.
