Merchant Fleet Mod?

I just got back into SHIII after a few years and I remember the Merchant fleet mod/pack that one guy was working on. Did that ever get finished? I was realy looking forward to it.

Iambecomelife. And yes, it's been finished for several years now.

Thanks Steve!.

Quick follow up question. Can this be installed mid carrear?

Sailor Steve 09-28-14 06:06 PM

That I don't know, since my ancient computer won't run it. I know all about it, but I've never been able to play it.

I think the "as long as you are in port between patrols" applies here. Be aware that loading times will increase significantly with it (lots of new ships to load).

Great mod, just loaded it up on top of some other stuff. Load times about 8-10 minutes total. Using with GWX.

WilhelmSchulz. 09-28-14 09:25 PM

Well just tried to run it and it crashed SHIII.

How good are your computer specs? How much RAM do you have? Are you using the 4-Gig patch? MFM uses a lot of resources. My old computer won't run it at all.

:sign_yeah:

I am running an I7, 8gigRAM and 2gigRam Video, with the 4-Gig patch, all of which makes a big difference from what I had with my older system.

I am also running Win 8.1, before doing anything I made sure the SH3 exe was made compatible, in my case it was with Win XP, SP 3.

Are you using the 4Gig Patch?

WilhelmSchulz. 09-30-14 07:26 PM

Honetly I dont even know how to find that out.

ReallyDedPoet 09-30-14 08:35 PM

It's not a mod but an app that modifies the SH3 .exe file so it uses more RAM in your system. A must have when running bigger mods like the MFM.

It comes with h.sie's great work:Here There are details on how to do it with the app. Takes a bit of getting used to but well worth it.

Also available from the folks from the Living Silent Hunter Three Mod:Here

The directions aint all exactly clear on how to use it.

ReallyDedPoet 09-30-14 09:44 PM

The second link I posted has one that is easier to use. If I come across a helpful related link to the patch I'll post it back here.
