Splinter Cell Blacklist anybody?

Anybody else get it? I bought it today.

Man... :o

Such an improvement over Conviction and I haven't even played it but for 30 minutes. :sunny:

No Ironside = no Sam Fisher = No Splinter Cell (for me).

They should have tried it with a complete new agent, since after a decade of Ironsides iconic voice I am unable and unwilling to accept a new "Sam Fisher" - there is only ONE Sam!

Also, I wait for a couple of reviewers I trust and then evaluate if I might get it non the less and imagine it is something else but "Splinter Cell", kinda what I did with Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Another problem for me is my sincere wish to boycott Ubicrap for ever and ever for their stupid and disrespectful actions towards fans/customers in the last couple of... wow... for a decade now.

That's my only major gripe with the game so far.

The only minor gripe so far is the controls. They completely changed them from Conviction so I'm running around throwing grenades when I mean to couch and stuff.

Since I had the opportunity to grab it for 18€, I could not resist any further. I gotta say, I am positively surprised by many features, yet some others are kind of a let down (crappy MP match making for example).

Sam isn't Sam anymore, but apart from that, it's pretty tits!

Red October1984 09-01-13 01:09 AM

I was also positively surprised.

If you can get around the fact that Sam isn't the way he used to be and will never be that way again, it's a great game.

They put some Stealth back into Splinter Cell here.

Yesterday, me and my friend sat back and did all of the Briggs missions, and some of the other Co-Op missions. I give the Co-Op itself at least a 4.5/5

Other than Sam complaints, I wish they'd take the new Grim and put the old voice into her. That'd be perfect. :)

Vic is okay...and at least they more or less left Kobin the same.

*still regretting the end of Double Agent* Why couldn't they keep the crack team of characters?

Annas voice is different? I did not even notice.
The reason... or the two reasons... might be in this picture:

 Have to agree.

But yes...her voice changed. I think Kobin is the only one that didn't change.

I haven't played that much Splinter Cell. Just some co-op Conviction with my brother...

Looks like a good game

If you're gonna play them...start from the beginning. Conviction is nowhere near the best. If Double Agent didn't suck, it would be the worst one.

I just finished the SP campaign and all 4E missions (except coop, since it didn't work with a friend and I won't play with strangers to get my day ruined).

I'm quite impressed with the campaign. It was long enough to justify the money I have spend and they put a lot of effort into it. There are flaws here and there, plot holes and moments where you just face palm hard... but hey, it's a game.

I really recommend this one. Something that surprises myself a lot. Quite the opposite from what I have expected.

I havent finished the SP campaign..but I did all of the Briggs Co-Op missions and some of the 4E missions with a friend.

The surprise at the end of Briggs' Missions really was surprising after you find that character dead in a body bag in Conviction.

He was never positively identified as...the one you speak about. Yet, who did not believe it was them inside the body bags... I am happy about that, since he was my favorite Agent so far besides Sam of course.

Briggs for example, is somewhat... annoying. Don't know, I just don't like him. Same goes for Sam in Blacklist though. He is always negative, aggressive, stressed. He does not even have a reason. Before Sarah came back, ok... but now? Meh...

Well...Grim idendifies him. I forget what exactly they do...but I know they do in BL...now in Conviction, at this point, that could have been anybody in that bag I guess...or this agent got some magic.

I've always liked the original crew...

Lambert, Sam, Grim, and field runner (whoever that may be at the time)

I like the new Grim (even though she looks wet with the Unreal Engine) but I don't like Briggs...or the new Sam...and Charlie reminds me too much of the new Q from Skyfall.

Can you customize the HUD? Turn off the radar and waypoint markers, stuff like that.

The Radar is optional. You get that with a plane upgrade...but the waypoint markers can't be removed I think...

Those don't bother me as much as the detection markers around the crosshair. :-?
