But spending several billions of dollars to set them back a few years is pretty wasteful.

Headline should read: "North Korea makes implausible threats in order to secure more humanitarian aid packages"

So now they threaten SK with "physical counter-measures" if they participate in the UN sanctions :nope:

Some crazy people over there....the problem being they could well carry out another attack like the suspected one on the Cheonan and keep the outrage low key and out of the retaliatory domain of the US or China even.

More DPRK nonsense, even if they did shell Yeonbongfongdongtaepongdo, the ROK can reply with six times the accuracy and twice the firepower. I think Pyongyang is slowly starting to realise that the days of threatening the 'weak old South propped up by the US' are pretty much past, the south is not weak anymore.

You may well be right but I always expect the unexpected from these nut jobs.

It would give China a large helping of worldwide credibility if they reign these nut jobs in.
