New Chevy Volt 230 mpg
I'm going to need a loan for this one, unfortunately this will surely drive gas prices up to the $5.00 mark or higher.

Not on social security, $40,000.00
At $5.00 per gal., thats 8,000 gallons of gas. :timeout:, or 160,000 miles at 20 miles per Gal. I will not live to drive that far:dead:

you american moan at gas prices? tried to drive in the UK ? what is is $3 a gallon well theres 5 litres to a gallon and the UK works in litres most garages are selling petrol at £1.01 per litre so thats £5.05 per gallon convert that to USD and it works about about $8.10
|
whats the average mpg a car gets in the uk?
|
My 2.5 V6 mondeo (its a big car) most cars above 2.0litre 2000cc are large cars in the UK but i get 38MPG out of it if i drive it right 29MPG around town.
Most economical car ive had renault megane diesel 1.5litre 74MPG (diesel is around 4p a litre more than petrol) The average car will do roughly 44MPG |
WOW, and I thought we had high fuel prizes... 1.01 £/litre that's insane, we've got approx 1.1 €/litre here... seems the pound has dropped a lot, I thought 1.01 £ would be quite a bit more than 1.17€

average car over here gets 20 mpg from what ive heard.

It's not the price of gas, it's the taxes you put on your gas. You should do something about that :shucks: |
Maybe the Toyota Prius would be a better choice because the cost would be a huge factor there.
Prius - $22000 Volt - $32500 ? It looks like for short commutes using the batteries your mpg is good, but drops on long trips. Quote:

I am on the waiting list to test drive the volt. It sounds like interesting technology but I want to test drive it to see how it is made.
The only reservation I have is that it is a Chevy. Honestly I would feel more confident if it were a Toyota/Honda/VW. But I will give it a fair trial when I get a chance. |
The Chevy Volt is a gas electric hybrid if im not mistaken.
The Aptera is sexier IMO... and all electric model is available. http://www.aptera.com/plugin.php |
