[REL]Betterscopes 1.5.1 + Taskbar mods & various other mods combined for 1.4
 
Menu and taskbar mod For SH4 1.4 .

Included in this mod are the following.

Smaller vintage nav tools by Captain Cox.
Search Pattern Mod By Captain Cox.
Pull Down Map By Captain Cox.
Mini Chrono By Chumo.
BetterScopes 1.5.1 By by lethal Based On Captain Cox Work.
namograph by Hildofr.
Gold Chronograph Watch By DMz A.K.A De@dMe@t.

the Config also includes :

TBT fixed to closed at start.
slightly smaller rec manual text from origional slide out manual by kosch.
transparant message text used by panthercules (did not include moving message box ect).

Altered task bar config for the following :

battlestations on all stations.
silent running on all stations apart from deck gun aa guns and command bridge.
heading to view and view to heading on periscopes and tbt.
extra gramaphone and radio buttons on various menus.
crash dive on all stations emergancy surface on all stations except aa guns deck gun & command bridge.
Hud based on Oakgrooves and captain coxs altered and added to by Digital.Trucker
orders config ect altered by self to match the above.

probebly a few more task bar alterations cant remember for sure some stations have 8 or 9 items others 15 or 16.

all brought upto date for 1.4 by self .

i will probebly add to the taskbar menu over the next few days, theres plenty of scope on the hud for extra items such as open fire hold fire plus save and load ect
anyway if i do ill let you know.

its only a 2meg download because i 7zipped it on maximum compression.

Download updated with newer version, few extra buttons being used once more :)

and ive added a night attack chrono in the zip incase you fancy a change

final version now uploaded so ill link it here along with another screenie, quality is a bit grainy because i had to cut the images down ,its just to show whats on the task menu on each screen and how many icons are used ect

heres jaketooks metal hud merged with digitaltruckers and oakgrooves & a non pinky version of oakgrooves hud as atr-42 pointed out pink really isnt fashionable on a sub ;)

Well, I did notice a problem. When I, for example, have the navigation tab selected there isn't room for all the command buttons. They run behind my fuel & Batt gauge. What do I need to edit? Thanks again...

You'll have to go into the 1024 x768 menu.ini file and delete some of the buttons you don't want. The all in one order bar hsows all buttoms a 1280X960 or higher. Might show all at 1152X864 but I'm not sure.

what res you running in???

ill do the edit for your res and post it here,

mines running in 1280x800 so i probebly wouldent get a problem with the number of icons

editing the ini has nothing to do with that the relevent names are in the order config

I'm having problems with the recognition manual using your mod. To use the recognition manual I have to hide the taskbar then go through the pages in the manual.

okay here are the final final versions, each has 4 diffrent huds in the zip 2 are my own creation with digital truckers and captain coxs icons on.

sorry for the dalay but ive had a hectic day .

metalic worn looking hud i think more suited for subs, with green back lights ect.

and the same again but with what i think is a more subtle blue light and back light.


downloads are for : 1024x768 res minimum.
: 1280x768 res minimum.
: 1440x900 res minimum.


the 1024x res version has only 10 icons a section max plus youve lost the smaller rec manual, sorry but its unavoidable for that resolution.

the 1280x res version has 15 icons max a section and youve got the full mod.

the 1440x res version has 18 icons max a section and youve got the full mod.

let me know what you think of the new hud thanks.

This file makes this mod compatible with foofighters recognition manual.

just unpack this zip , disable both mods, copy the menu_1024_768.ini , from the zip to the menu folder of betterscopes 1.5.1 pull bown map ect,then just overwrite the file in the mod, next reenable foos recognition manual mod, then reenable this mod, when prompted by menu_1024.ini is in use do you want to overwrite it, just click yes. foos mod and this mod will then work fine together.

I am running it at 1280 x 1024. Thank you very much for revising this for different screen resolutions, and for doing it so darn quick! I really do appreciate it...
Also, nice touch with the colored HUD lights. That blue set looks terrific in-game.:up:

Looks like good stuff, But for the love of god, i hate downloading extra programs to unpack files. Regular .zip ftw. In the age of broadband, uber compression is not needed

How do I get the gramophone back? I changed the Usergramophone.dds file to the stock one before installing, but it's super huge in the game now. I don't want the pulldown map, just the gramophone.

you cant!

well not unless someone edits the pull down map out of the menu_1024__768.ini.

oh and if you deleted the default gramaphone. hmmm not a lot can be done. ;)

so i quess youd better have this, & overwrite the files in the origional mod with it.
then there wont be a map but a gramaphone and the rest of the mod will hopefully miraculously reapear. :)

That's what I wanted to know. What to change in that file. I've got the stock gramophone to come up, it's just too big now.
