It needs alot of work, but there's alot of potential for a community effort :|\\

To good hunting!

There's a new sig in being now :hmm:

The one being used at the moment should be fine as our new ones are a little more departmentalised.

That is until I dig out the generalised version.:D

danurve 06-05-07 12:12 PM

Alrighty then.
I was just thinking users browsing the manual might want an overview and some reference links. And since the manual is a wiki not a forum the information (sections/pages) could be interlinked and stay put. Certain pages could be 'protected' as well.

To good hunting!

Well,well,well...all over the Subsim.com kaleuns are already talking about the "Secret weapon of the Third Reich" - GWX v.1.04.And best mod-makers of all
ages continue to keep silence.

What is this mystery called GWX 1.04 going to be?A huge patch of over 100 MB or totally new set of .BIN files and when may we expect it to be released? :)

The release date is being kept tightly under wraps... as is content.

However, within the next seven days I expect to be able to release an "official" statement to allow everyone to peek under the hood for a moment.

I will be looking forward to that.It seems there will never be a need of SH V until we have SHIII and great GWX Development team.

Keep on doing great job, guys. :)

P.S. The only thing I would prefer is that system requirements of GWX 1.04 would be more or less at the same level of GWX 1.03 unless my lappy will have difficulties...

My congrats on the patch and the excellent manual that goes with it!

I actually work in the world of gaming manuals for Microsoft PC and XBox games and I have to say the Grey Wolves manual is excellent, clear, concise and not overly complicated for greenhorns.

Keep up the good work

That is ALWAYS one of the foremost things in any of the devs minds when adding content.

GWX has been deliberately developed in such a way that it will use the same resources as stock SH3 would. Infact, there have been instances where GWX has used less resources and has demonstrated faster performance.

Well, the only thing that might be noticed on some Systems is that the loading times are slightly longer..but the in-game performance is just the same.

That would be great!GWX v.1.03 improves framerate on my laptop (Fujitsu Siemens AMILO A1650G,AMD Sempron 3300+,1024MB DDR 333 Mhz,ATI Radeon Xpress 128MB on-board) and game runs more smooth then stock version. It's very pleasant also, that if even there is some lagging, for example in ports - those laggs do not spoil the gameplay and the game is still quite playable. And it's even more pleasant that I can keep GWX up to the highest graphics settings and admire all those amazing views.

I expect the same performance from the further GWX versions until I will be a able to get a brand new PC (already desktop probably). And I believe that great GWX developers will make all our dreams come true. :)

As stated earlier....the only noticeable difference will probably be slightly longer loading times :arrgh!:

and after that the most noticable difference will be the game itself ;) 1.04 sets the bar even higher than before :yep:

Question:

When do the escorts start to get good at hunting U-Boats? So far, late 1940, I'm still running rings round them, as it were. Not that they are easy now, by any stretch of the imagination! God! They test me now, but, I mean... when do they really get beyond what they are now.

Well hun make the most of it
You are still in the happy times
You will soon be wishing you were back there

You should begin to see a shift in the second half of 1942 that gets progressively tougher. (at least inasfar as we could make it)

(very generally speaking)
1941- Armed merchants begin to proliferate
1942- Allied sensors really begin to get better... increase in air patrols
1943- Allied air coverage intensified greatly
1944-1945- ... Just come back alive sailor!

BBW can comment better on specifics concerning crew qualities and introduction of hunter-killer groups etc... From the beginning, we've always kept an eye to the progression of "intensity" throughout the war to mirror history as best we can within SH3.... Pretty cool stuff. I wish I had the foresight to record some of our teamspeak conversations.... so much ground has been covered.

Sorry for the ramble, I hope I answered your question.
