Started work on OHII v2:D
So far it has:-

the patch from 1.9
Added the speed and traffic fix
fixed bug in TurningPoint where base was set to Penang:oops: (from test with MG)
Lots of work on the air layers
Added hell of Biscay from 1943 onward (schnorkel now required:arrgh!:)
Removed all "sink ships or tonnage" from all campaigns objectives - now objectives are to patrol or attack shipping etc


Re: airlayer
There is still a game bug where if airbases are within range of your dock - air raids will happen as you leave port. These air raids will cause ctd given enough time.:hmph:
To stop this I have had to keep the air attacks just out of range of the ports.
So this is not the airlayer that I wanted, but it will increase the air attacks on you at sea:dead:

but don't you think that after adding Monsun Gruppe campaign after Distant Waters, there is a gap left between Arctic Convoys and Turning Point that needs to be filled? :hmm2::D

P.S. Have you seen my pm regarding whale textures? Any news from Uekel?

Just pleaseeee add some instructions on how to install because the last few months have been crazy with new patches and what not!!

I don't know from where you get your inspiration, but you must really be the ultimate sub fan!! :)

I just have a little request. could you maybe have a German translation for all the new objectives and things??
I love playing oldschool Kriegsmarine style.
Deutsche Befehle in Deutsche sprache.
It really brings out the atmosphere

Its not as I had hoped it would work - I thought that threatzones may stop the air attacks on the ports and so stop the ctds - but no.:nope:

It is better than we had - I was killed by air in my first test (using TDWs IRAI).
I am still looking to get a better mix with the ranges of each base:up:

In the meanwhile I've almost finished reading the Wings3D user manual. By now I know how to export 3d meshes from dat units with their animation, make basic modifications on them in W3d and import them back in game. I hope with no side effects... :hmmm:

Here is a link to the german translations for OH II 1.9.

There are more files as you need for the translation, so please delete all files/folders except data/Campaigns. In this folder you can delete all .mis files. The translations are the data/Campaigns/CampaignProjects/Nameofcampain/*.tsr.

Three missions are not translated yet (Wolfpack missions in a later campaign, don't remember atm). Please report any issues.

I am into the MN campaign and I am still driving a Type VIIB. When can I expect to get the VIIC? I have completed all objectives up to this point and have something like 500,000 tons sunk.

love the mod but i seem to have a problem with strategic supplies mission, sinking 2 oil tankers, ive sank a few around tip of north island since they only seem to appear there in convoys, though the meter is not filling up to complete the objective, anyone help?

Ahh...this is what I wanted to see. No more requirements for ludicrous tonnage, just the good old-fashioned "Engage in Unrestricted Warfare" order. :arrgh!::Kaleun_Salivating:

The campaign engine for SH5 must have objectives set and these can only be one of three things:-
  1. sink tonnage
  2. sink ships by number
  3. escort ships from a to b
Any campaign must use those to set missions and briefings.

The update I am working on will hide what is required.
So where in the past an objective may have been "sink 70,000 of the British coast" - it will now be "patrol the British coast".
The 70,000t requirment will still be there but just not seen. When it has been achieved, campaign stars will be issued etc.
The progress bar will still work - but you will not know how much you will have to sink. I am also changing the hidden numbers as I have now played through the campaign a few times and with feedback from this thread - I have a better idea what to set everything as:D
