Kinda funny to hear him blab while I'm ditching stuff at Belethors shop.

I was using the Dovahkiin's Hideout mod which gave me a huge underground domain for crafting and storage and just general living if I wanted to use it for that. I put him on a shelf there and when I moved away from him the volume level of his chatter would go down as it should but if I went into the one part of the hideout that was a separate cell - i.e. there was a loading screen on entry and exit - his voice would be just as loud in there as it was when I was two floors up standing right next to him.

Thought it was a glitch with that mod, but I guess not... sounds like it has something to do with being in *any* small interior space within a given distance of his location or maybe within the same larger chunk of the playable world.

Granted I don't know if, say, the Breezehome cell and the store cell are somehow *inside* the larger Whiterun cell in some way so I may not be making any sense at all. But if you stay in the same cell and get closer or farther away his volume goes up and down as you would expect... then when you enter a separate interior cell within the same overall "space" (Whiterun, or the Hideout) it somehow reverts back to the same default volume you get when he's right there with you. :hmmm:

No, never found the reason he stopped blabbering. :hmmm:

I did plonk him down to a custom house, so no idea if that has something to do
with it. Might be in an area where there is no navmesh or something, might cause it... maybe.

Hmm... I enabled an upgraded version of the Hideout at some point, but I don't know if that corresponded to when he stopped talking. It's certainly a possibility that something got changed that affected him, I wonder if I had taken him out of there and then back in, if it would've made a difference.

I'm going to use customized versions of the vanilla properties and maybe add a couple in the other holds if I find anything that looks good... but I'm going to try and do without the Hideout this time. It just got too big and too full of pointless clutter. He made a compact version which looks nice, but it's not set up for followers to enter and neither were any of the other additional living spaces that I saw last time I looked. OTOH I may not be using followers much this go 'round, so who knows. :hmmm:

Edit: wait what am I thinking if I do the Dark Brotherhood thing I'll have a place in Falkreath eventually...

I think your onto something.

I've roughly mapped out how far his voice carries, obviously to the Smith shop at the gate, all the way down to the Alchemist shop. Everybody building between those points has his voice, on said street.

That includes the buildings on the opposite side of the street, the other bar across from breeze home.

However it DOES stop at the alchemist shop because his voice is not in the Inn at the end of the street, nor is it in any other building in whiterun.

Interiors are usually stored in their own cells, but it could be possible that some
of the cells share the same soundspace. :hmmm:

That, or there's a bug with the spacecore.

Glass armour looks cool. So cool. Looks like Captain Nemo's diving suit.

I downgraded to a dwarven sword again. It's the coolest looking sword. So... straight, clear lines. Looks like a sword should look. Using a glass bow as well, and an elven dagger too. That elven dagger with 15X multiplier in sneak attack since I specialised in archery and sneaking. Lack of overpowered weapons certainly is not one of Skyrims problems.

Made friends and armed to the teeth the housecarls of Whiterun and Rifton, made Rifton my primary home, also made freinds and armed to the teeth Mjoll and that Dark Elven archer from Whiterun whose name I always forget. Lydia in steel plate with open steel helmet not to hide her cute face :), steel axe and orkish bow. Mjoll in ebeny this time, with an open steel hel,met again, no shield, but an ebny two hander and an ebony bow. Then there is that Rifton housecarl who always looks so angry. She got dressed in full drwaf armour and wepaonry, am axe and bow. And the Elven archer from Whiterun in Golden Elven armour and sword and bow - what else. All carry at least two items with noise-muffling magical effects.

I am the only man in the gang. :D

Rifton is my place. I simply love it. Always had a soft spot for birch trees, and the home may not be the biggest, but it is gemütlich, so is the town. Whiterun in close second. I just cannot make a decision to part from my money over houses in the other cities. They may be bigger, but they feel not - not right.

Stores and salesmen hate customers like me. :D

But the game, even at highest level, is too easy. I feel there is nothing out there that could pose a threat to me in a duel. Not even severla of them at the same time. How should that be once I have made a light dragon armour and upgraded it? Batman smacking a gang of chicken? Looks all nice, keeps you getting back again and again even when not being able to continue the main quest (which probably is not that interesting anyway, I assume).

And I want bigger rumbles. Want to mess with a gang of 10 or 15, not just two or three walking cadavers on the stage, using three arrows to mow all three down. I want something in Arnie-style. The Rambo show. The Skyrimian Little Big Horn. The reall bloody blood stuff, preferably from many different corpses. Or you open the door to the dungeon, and Alien 2's sentinel automatic robot MGs from three sides send you a motivating greeting.

Hm.

Think I go playing SBP a bit now. I got into the right mood.

I hope they beef up the stakes a bit in a future addon. In Skyrim, not in SBP.

I do agree about the game being easy, except against some master level Mages.

I don't know about easy I play it on expert and at times its a battle to survive tho im full on melee with a pitiful heal ability, use a 1hd wep and shield with block up to max and finish them off with a 2 hander. 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 no problem but more than 2 enemies then its hit and run tactics. :dead:

Is there a lvl cap for PC game I heard the lvl cap for the console game is 50 but us pc players can go on forever kinda thing.

As a hardcore Morrowind/Oblivion vet, I kicked the difficulty up to the max from day one. I've never had a problem with the game. Indeed, I found it too easy. I'm not saying this to brag or boast. I'm really just whining about games being too easy these days.

Or maybe I've just achieved CHIM and realized that any and all damage to my character is just a figment of the Godhead's imagination.

Drewcifer 03-01-12 09:45 PM

max level is 81, once ALL of your skills hit 100 your level is 81 and you can go no further.

But what do you play an over powered mage with super heals and 1 shot arcane kills :D j/king

I think my reaction timing is getting slower the older I get :har:

 Go no further, but we can still play right? Providing there are still quests to do just no longer lvl after 81.

Yeah, it is surprisingly easy on Master. :hmmm: Had some problems at first, being
a pure dual wielder and not using much resist etc. potions, but a few perks
to the one-handed combat did the trick. Can stagger pretty much anything with
a dual power attack, so doesn't really matter who I'm up against. :O:

AFAIK, there is no "end" in the game. :hmmm:

I did for a while. That was ridiculously easy. My current character at the moment is a sword and board tank with Dragon armor, a Daedric shield, Ysgramor's shield, and the Rahgot mask. Still pretty dang easy.

Oooh, this looks like a fancy mod, Frostfall:

Quote:

Frostfall is a survival-style mod that adds cold weather survival gameplay elements to Skyrim.
It uses a sophisticated system to track your location, weather, time of day, worn clothing, and more, to determine your current rate of exposure.
All of this takes place seamlessly in the background.
