I'll see your dime a dozen heavy metal band and raise it by a single hundred dollar Patsy Cline bill. :O:

Great choice Moonlight. :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up: You can walk into just about any bar or restaurant with a juke box and if there, Patsy Cline's songs and music is sure to be there. Patsy is often imitated but never duplicated and her voice and music is timeless. Like the best artists, Patsy's voice is instantly recognizable. Willie Nelson wrote this song for Patsy and she recorded it making it one of her best known songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbnrdCS57d0 Another absolute classic from Patsy Cline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b35SkJdDGV4 |
If you're looking for class these days you won't find much of it, go back some years though and it would've slapped you in the kisser every day. It wasn't until the mid 70's that I first saw Audrey Hepburn singing Moon River but when I did I knew I'd just found it in spades.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uirBWk-qd9A I didn't know that Willie Nelson wrote that song. |

I'll see your drag rail and raise you a GTO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_FSicQWimU The above was the original version; an interesting note is the band, Ronnie and The Daytonas, formed in Nashville, TN, not a spot known for surfing; I guess they can be given a pass considering none of the original Beach Boys could surf... GTO brought to mind The GTOs, a group out of here in Los Angeles mentored by Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. The all-girl group was comprised of several well-known and famous groupies in the LA scene; Pamela Des Barres, of I'm With The Band book fame is probably the best known of the band. THE GTO stood for "Girls Together Outrageously", which they were in real life; I recall seeing them in and about Hollywood; I actually gave one of them a lift when I saw her hitchhiking on Sunset Blvd. in the 70s; she seemed a bit disoriented, a condition I wrote off as a result of recent 'substance ingestion'... The GTOs only recorded one album, Permanent Damage, and it has become something of a collectors item since it had a number of well-known musicians aside from Zappa and Capt. Beefheart, including Lowell George, Jeff Beck, and Ry cooder, among others... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCC0lihHBwQ A song from the GTOs also known as Do Me in Once and I'll Be Sad, Do Me in Twice and I'll Know Better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l19wFG_E38A <O> |

There was a US TV series, Person Of Interest, that ended its run about a year ago and each of the main characters had a specific theme music when the action would center on that specific character; one of the characters had a theme that was very familiar to me, but I couldn't figure out where I had heard the similar tune before; now I finally have the answer, so in honor of a great TV series, and the beginning of summer (at least here in the US) -- SURF'S UP!!:
