What a coincidence! Just today I was discussing INXS with a co-worker.

Small world, I guess. They did have a lot of good hit songs. Tragic story about Michael Hutchence, the lead singer, though.

A very nice tribute to airline cabin crew and ground staff. the poor Hosties get hit on by sleazebags, have to deal with entitled unruly dangerous passengers, getting their plane shot down by russia - Korean Airlines, Malaysian Airlines. Not a glamorous job at all.

A big salute :Kaleun_Salute:

In another thread, I posted I didn't really know much about Taylor Swift and her career, the radio stations I listen to don't play her songs and I'm not really up on a lot of the current pop culture, plus her brand of pop music isn't really my taste; what little I know about her has been mainly articles in straight business and music biz news about her legal battles over her songs and rights; she seems to be a very well grounded business person and seem to have a 'take no prisoners' attitude when it comes to defending and protecting her art, which is highly admirable in someone so young; the only other bits I know of her come from a couple or so music videos I've seen on TV entertainment shows; this video stood out because it was mini-masterpiece of production, concept, talent, casting, and execution; all that plus getting so many celebrities to buy into the whole superhero (superheroine) action movie scenario is impressive...

2 hauntingly beautiful songs from this lovely Mongolian singer. The world and internet is an ugly place, Beauty counterbalances it. Long live Beauty.

This clip shows the beginnings of what would become Punk Rock; it is very apparent where The Sex Pistols nicked some of their inspiration...

More Harpsichord....can never get enuf :arrgh!:

Hi vienna, if you can get hold of Mark P or Mark Perry ( same bloke ) "Sniffin Glue" magazines he published in '76 ( they were later compiled into a book ) you'll find it very interesting. You probably know all this already, but in case you don't.....he was there and gives a "no holds barred" account of the "Punk Explosion" ( I hate Press labels like that.)

Malcoms' sex shop, Malcolm Mclaren.... master manipulator of the Press. Pistols, Clash, Stranglers, Adverts, Subway Sect,...all there and lots more.

I honestly can't believe it's all nearly 50!!!!! years ago.

We got our gear from Army Surplus...no one had designer label stuff like doc martens.....yuck. There's money to be made so Fashion steps in.

Indeed, and what a contrast to some of the plastic hits of the 80ies and 90ies.

One more Spliff, but this whole "Radio show" from the Waldbuehne in 1981 is now online
("Sweet as Radio")

I also really like this group of young ladies; they all have extensive education in music and they have united to express their own sound...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa5gPynokVQ

...and they remember those ladies who came before them as in this cover of a Blondie song..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiCt0n-lqys

...and, some time back, I posted one of their clips and commented on how their sound was sort of a combining of Sparks and ABBA; well, they have indeed given their nod to Sparks; btw, the little lead guitarist is an impressive player...
