I don't think the second half is that bad but I agree that the first part is better. I felt he jumped into the second half and attempted to answer questions that the first half had thrown up. I would have much preferred he kept that 'George Lucas' approach in check. There was no need to try to explain everything in the space of the one movie if a sequel is going to be forthcoming.

I was thinking about a preview of the film i read about 18 months ago in Empire and, I have to say, it sounded like it was going to be a much, much darker film at one point. It's a shame they never stuck to that.

I think if it was much darker it could very well come out as a Cert.18

OK folks a question of scale..

When you see the size of the engineer to the space jockey clearly the jockey is far bigger, what do you you think?

Saw it, liked it for the grand spectacle and intense action in places.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!

Why did the robot infect the male scientist? What was the point of that?

^ Don't think there's a clear answer to it, but how I see it is that David was following
Weyland's orders to "Try harder!!". Holloway tells David that he'd do
"anything and everything" to get answers, so David took that as a permission
from Holloway that he'd be willing to be a test subject.

Or something. :O:

Prometheus 2 has now been retitled as "Alien:Paradise Lost" and will be released in 2017. According to Ridley Scott, Alien 5 will also be released in 2017 after Promet-.. Alien:Paradise Lost.

Two Alien films in one year? Yes, please! :yeah:

Don't hold your breath I have a very bad feeling they will be tripe, be prepared for the worst and if they are the hit is less.

I am wary, of course... buuuut, from Ridley Scott I always expect something good. A:PL, in his words "rearends to Alien" and Ripley is somehow involved, not on screen perhaps, but somehow.

ALIEN 5 seems very promising, seeing Weaver and Biehn together on screen will be worth it and Blomkamp seems to be very excited about it.

Then again.. so were the Strauss brothers about AvP:R :haha:

Ah well, time will tell.

PS. I knew you'd be the first one to reply. :)

maybe he's taking notes from the Martian about making another survival movie.
The magic about Alien was small group in a small space with an enemy you cant pinpoint.

Just the classic spooky house in the middle of no where and the guests are trapped inside with a killer spin. :)

And yes the spin did work.

Well, Ridley speaks of "other travelers" in A:PL, combine that with going back to the Engineers' homeplanet and Ripley, maybe they go to LV-426?

Something happens to David and Shaw, and at the end of the film we hear radio crackle with Nostromo coming down to the planet as per ALIEN.
(CALLED IT :O:)

Now it's called Alien: Covenant, geez, make up your mind! :haha:

Release date: October 6th, 2017

Also, official plot details:

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy,
the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an
uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole
inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the
doomed Prometheus expedition.”

In some ways I am happy this will never see the light of day. Ripley is to old and Hicks is dead so live with it and move on and lets see a fresh new idea.

The first two Alien movies were good. Different, chamber play versus action rollercoaster, but each of them good in its own way.

Everything coming after that, was unnecessary, if not even crap. Don't need and don't want another fifth crappy Alien movie.

Predator: the same. First movie was okay for what it was. The others: uaaahhhh.

Coin milking at its worst.
