Actualy the opposite is true. In the last 2 quarters i steadily increased the productivity and made the first prototype and recently the team grew again. So things will go even faster from now on. Although i lost a couple of weeks to illness.

You have surely seen the pics of the first prototype haven't you ?

I'm still using an elderly PC of the SH II era  - any chance to see shells of fury running on such a PC?

Thank you.

got in the mail and seems it's out very soon:cool: . the graphics don't look as good as SH4

minsc_tdp 08-21-07 04:02 PM

Anyone know where I can get this game in the US, retail? I've called around, no luck... Or where can I order it online, hopefully near California so I don't have to wait too long?

The graphics may not be up to par with SH4, but I think we've learned that taking the "great graphics sell games" approach to a project results in a half-assed game where so much has been sacrificed in order to make it look pretty.

Besides, all the screens I've seen show jaggies - try forcing AA/AS on via NVTweak or a similar utility, with simple graphics like this you can probably get away with cranking it to the max and it will really smooth out those lines.

Both boxed and downloads are now available.

Got the download and have been trying it out, not bad at all.

The models are in X format, so open to some tools, the textures are DDS so again open to some tools.

Models are around 7000-16000 polys, sailing ship is 55,000 polys.

The control files are text, so again easy to mod, once understood.

Could be interesting for modding up.

Some interface elements are 2D rather then 3D but this is not a huge problem.

If a full 3D interior could be modelled then this would make this a great SIM.

I like what I see thus far.

What program opens the .X files ??

Hi

I am aware of a program in Hungary that can open some .x files but is useless for .xx format, what others are there please??

thank you

Hey Mossie,

How is it running for you and what are your system specs? My system meets the recomended specs and exceeds them in most cases, but I'm getting low FPS. It's still playable, but it doesn't run like Silent Hunter 3.

Thanks

Mossie 08-24-07 01:04 PM

I'm running:

Intel 2Core 6300 1.86Ghz overclocked to 2.56Ghz
RAM 2GB
WinXP SP2
2 Screens driven by Nvidia GeForce 7950GT (1 x 22in + 1 x 19in) both running at max resolution.
And about 2Tb of data storage.

Hmmm....I have a feeling that these are the REAL recommended specs.

I'm running an Nvidia 7600GT AGP, which doesn't seem like much less than your card. I'm also glad to see you're running XP, so that kinda eliminates that problem.

Thanks.

Looks just like a cheaper version of the Silent Hunter series to me .. Would need to be an exellent game to drop into the same rating as silent hunter.

You defonatly have your wires crossed somewhere . The 7600GT is no were near as good performance ratings as a 7950GT. Example 8500GT is worse performace than a 6800GT. Numbers means nothing , Its all about the card spec not its id Number or how much mem its got.
