Good yes. The episode could have been mutch longer.

Jimbuna 04-03-13 08:33 AM

Wasn't all that bad but I expect the following episodes to get better.

Average which clearly is a follow up to the Xmas special.

BossMark 04-03-13 10:48 AM

Sky+ it and have not had time to watch it as yet.

I'm waiting for the Neil Gaiman Cyberman episode. :yep: Will probably be the highlight of the season. :yep:

I just finished rewatching the original 'Ice Warriors' from 1967. :D

Oh yeah, that One's going to be amazing, I can just tell. From the sounds of things, they'll be more like the classic Cybermen in this episode. And that's going to be great! Let me tell you a story. Doctor Who had gone from 'that weird show with the jelly baby guy' to 'the greatest show in the galaxy' in just one Christmas special. I couldn't get enough Doctor Who, so my parents loaned Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel for me. I went away thinking 'Cybermen are cool, but where are the Daleks?' Then, a short time later, I watched Tomb of the Cybermen. Although Matt Smith stole the idea from me a while later, I just fell in love with the classic Cybermen. Just look at my action figure collection: http://imageshack.us/a/img40/8950/photoapr04080146.jpg

Most of them are Cybermen. I love those guys.

Anyway, back onto Nightmare in Silver, here's a fan made trailer for it: http://www.youtube/watch?v=73c4i5T0N6o

Pretty cool, huh?

And here's something to make you think:

I have pretty much all the novels, purchased back when the only Who we could see was Tom Baker. I am much more entertained by the shows, even the reconstructed ones.

Best episode of this Doctor for me was the one written by Neil Gaiman, so I am also looking forward to see what he came up with the cybermen! http://r14.imgfast.net/users/1415/23...les/661856.gif

By the way, on Monday S. Moffat said that the TARDIS would change to appeal the new generations and that old look is no longer adequate!

Karle94 04-04-13 12:02 PM

Oh my god, they are going to put up pinup girls, making Jenna redundant.

Neil Gaiman has a penchant for writing, although admittedly I've only read one of his works and that was his effort with Terry Pratchett for 'Good Omens' but his last episode was very well written and beautifully acted. Matt Smith deserves more episodes like that where he can exercise his talent a bit more.

Nice figure collection, the wife has a David Tennant figure and I have a John Barrowman one, we also have a couple of the RC Daleks and she got me a plush speaking Dalek for my birthday from the sci-fi convention we were at last month in Wales (which gives me the opportunity to post a link to a pic that I took for you while I was there - http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/2635/1006324f.jpg ). You should get a Sylvester McCoy figure though! :haha: He's a hilarious chap, and the first Doctor I remember from back in the day. :yep:

I'll be around your place tomorrow to commence the therapy sessions :O:

I would also recommend "American Gods" and... crap what was the title of the other one I read? Hang on a tick.

...

"Anansi Boys."

I'm not saying they're necessarily better than any of his other stuff, just that they are the only things of his I've read (other than the collaboration with Pratchett) and I enjoyed both of them immensely. :yep:

Jimbuna 04-04-13 04:28 PM

Yes, they were both up to his usual/expected standard :yep:
