Evening jim, nice day at the pub? :DL

After looking at it again, I removed it altogether. I don't know how that second one got down into my part of the text. The "Or just click..." part was all I wrote.

Truly fixed now, so there! :O:

Getting back to the topic at hand. I must admit I've not seen riots and looting like this in the UK for some time, and the fact that it's going on for longer than a day or two...and now has apparently spread to Birmingham as well.

Bernie Grant...The police received a bloody nose. 1982

Cameron seats back sunning himself while scum are having a field day.

I can't help feeling that Boris Johnstone should have been on a flight back from his holidays on Sunday morning instead of waiting until today.

However, Here is the response of Lee Jasper, Ken Livingstone's Director for Policing and Equalities when Red Ken was Mayor:

Quote:

Last night during the uprising in Tottenham, we dispatched a legal team offering legal advice and representation to all those who were arrested.

There will be community meetings this week to discuss the events of last night and how best to respond, in which we will be involved: details will be announced as soon as possible.

Thursday evening there will be a meeting called 'Recession, Riot and Resistance' - venue and time to be announced, but in the meantime please put the date in your diaries and keep Thursday evening free.

Please continue to promote the March 4 Justice 4 Demetre Fraser to be held next Saturday 13th August. Thanks to all those raising awareness at carnivals and events this weekend.

So, one of the main guys in Livingstone's Mayoral team, a man who will probably be back on Ken's ticket at the next London elections, thinks that the correct response to all this is to help the rioters deal with the police. Hmmm.......Nevermind those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. Also note the use of the word 'Uprising'.

I actually don't know what I expected from someone connected with Ken Livingstone.

It's kinda funny in a way because I can remember standing in Parliament Street in the early eighties during the Toxteth riots and this twunt of a Superintendant ordered the line to 'stand fast' whilst we were being showered with petrol bombs.

He was of course 20 yards or so back issuing orders through a megaphone and the guy next to me said "Just watch what happens next" and sure enough a snatch squad appeared, broke through the ranks and grabbed a few of the lead elements on the opposite side of the street.

We knew there were army folk on the rooftops with night vision and image capture equipment.

The strange thing at the time was the fact that these 'snatchers' had no identifying clothing on....wonder who they were or where they were from?

Apparently Big Society Dave is coming back to chair a Cobra meeting, so you might get the heavies coming out if this carries on. :yep:

The fire in Croydon is...wow...looks like something out of the Blitz! The bloody tram tracks are on fire! How does that work?
