First, make sure your SH3 install is clean. Roll back SH3 Commander if you use it, uninstall your previous version of SH3, and then once that's done delete all the SH3 folders out of the C:/Program Files/Ubisoft and C:/My Documents directories. Run a good registry cleaner. Next step, install stock SH3 and apply the 1.4b patch. Once you've done that and are primed for GWX fun, pour yourself a whiskey (2 fingers full in a rocks glass with 3 ice cubes, just the way Sinatra liked it) and put on Das Boot.

Rinse, repeat until GWX is out.

Ah . . . and which SHIII should I uninstall? As I have four independant versions currently residing on my HD. And deleting the folders out of My Documents isn't an option for me, since as much as I'm looking forward to playing GWX I really don't desire to delete the info from all my other careers and games.

You can rename the folder too or just save the careers folder within and replace so your careers are saved for other installs

Excellent job. I am getting ready to install you mod (deleted the NYGM mod already)

Any chance of someone puttings this on filefront. Rapidshare is a no-go for me.

In the meantime, I'll read the PDF.

You can also save the PDF to your PC... just click the floppy disk icon in the upper left corner when you view the manual.

Or, even easier is to simply right click the "GWX Manual online" link in the first post and select "Save Target As..." (or equivalent). MUCH easier and quicker than fluffing about with Rapid****e or FileFront.

Exactly what I do too! Hehe. Or want to, but I can't DL it at work and the pdf is so big @ 17 MB that my company's email rules won't let it through if I try to email it to myself at work from home. So I'm a bit stuffed and may have to print it at home.

And two other things:

1. backup the clean install so that you never need to install and patch again (well, apart from HDD failure anyway)
2. if you use SH3Cmdr, ensure that you are running R2.6 or newer (R2.7 recommended). R2.5 and older are unsupported.

Went to my local second hand bookshop on the weekend, and they noticed my interest in sub books (bought a couple in the past) and they jumped out from behind the counter and GAVE me a copy of "The Coffin Boats - History of Japanese midget sub operations in WWII". They wouldn't accept a penny for it, and insisted that I have it since I remind them of their son (poor souls) who lives interstate.

The sad thing is, that it's sitting on my bedside table gathering dust, while I read the GWX manual.

Hi all,
I think I found a small error in the GWX manual- the "jake" floatplane (page 118) and all other planes based on the same model ("Arado" and "Kingfisher") have their floats inversly mounted. Can this be fixed?
The second one is on the page 89-the destroyers available for the polish navy- there was one, similar to the french "Bourrasque"-class, named ORP Burza that managed to escape to GB in 1939 and served in the atlantic convoy duty and in the med for the whole war.
There was (is?) a great ready model from Jack410 from Poland, so no need to make a whole new ship, only to include it in GWX. It it possible?

Nevertheless, those are only minor errors on this fabulous work. I want to thank all the modders that spent so many time to make this game so realistic.

greets
michal

Hi everyone !

First, thank you for this amazing job !

I would like to make a French translation of this manual in order to avoid heart attacks due to excessive consumption of coffee for some players when trying to read this manual. :D:D:D

Would that be possible to get the original file (non pdf), so I could translate easily with pictures and backgound, please ?

I know it's too late for the next release

Thanks a lot.;)

Achtung Englander 12-14-06 05:56 AM

amazing piece of work - well done

I cannot wait for the mod to be released. I must confess I stopped playing GW1.1a because of the very high damage model so I am looking forward to this being addressed in GWX

That is my Xmas sorted (provided its released by then ;) )
