Submarine Surface sound needs tweaking (ROW Sounds vs3)

Leo and LukeFF, here's a heads up for you guys: you need to shorten the length of that sound effect to 15 seconds max. As it is now, it plays only once and then you won't hear it again for the rest of your game (unless you reload). From what I gathered at the Ultimate Sound mod thread, it's an SH4 limitation that non-looped sounds cannot exceed 15 seconds in duration. I've shortened it already (cutting off the two middle revving up parts) and now it plays just fine, albeit a bit louder than the actual diesel engine sound (I didn't touch the volume, only the duration). I don't know if you have a more fine-tuned version available, just thought I'd let you know.
It goes without saying that I can provide you with my shortened-down version if you'd like. Two minutes shaved off your workload may not be much, but my offer stands nevertheless :)

another soundproposition

Leo and LukeFF : Wouldn't it be a plus to have the crew react when you have a torpedohit or when a ship is going down ?
I remember something like that from my SH3 period i think ,where you here the crew say something like :"Wihr haben ihm....ssstt.liese(laise)..etc" .
It made me alway's laugh and feel good.

All those latest releases ...man..man ..man....awesome
(That canonsound..wohoooo...i always increas the volume of my headset now.)

THANX FOR ALL THE HARDWORKING MODDERS!

What is the driver number you are backing up to? I am using 169.04 and thinking of backing up myself.

All of that stuff is already in the sound file's for phrases just not linked to anything so they are not being used. But as far as I know all that is supose to be repaired for the 1.4 patch. Crew yelling, being told a torpedo tube is opening and a lot more.

I linked the oil slik stuff to every engine room and fuel bunker

Thanks again to all for all this work and for the help!! this mod is incredible! i'm doing hundreds of photos! and i only trying with training mission!
bye Francesco

As well as to all fuel and oil cargo's so not sure why you do not see them. Not all of them light on fire depend's on the situation but each ship other than the sailing one's should have that effect as long as the engine room and or fuel bunker is breached.

yep I just tested it and your right

It does stop working and I didn't even notice it :damn: :damn: .

We were so busy trying to match it up to the surface engine running missed the fact of the length problem. Thanks for the heads up.

If you send me the file you said you edited I will see what we got and go from there.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've edited the sound, and now it works properly.

I am off for now everyone but when I come back on

I will be posting new download's for the special effect's part of the mod.

This is what is going to happen with the new downloads:

I am updating the ROW light and clasic special effect's download's with my newest work on the Particles and materials files for the fire's / explosions / smoke effects and search light's and so forth.

Also adding a new one that takes the stock game zone's file and added all the special effects to it like I did for the NSM zone's files.

I am removing the Scene file from those folder's and there will be a new download for it with many more sky and reflection controls in with the scene file.

So this will mean you have new stuff from the mod work that is slightly restructured.

So the new downloads will be named as fallows:

ROW light zone's special effect's vs_3 still need NSM

ROW classic zone's special effect's vs_3 still need NSM

ROW Stock zone's special effect's vs_1 mean's you will no longer need NSM anymore for the people that do not wish to use it.

ROW SKY Ocean and Reflection control's all my newest work with LBO and everything else included.

I should have this up in a few hour's for all of you to download!

If I can get motivated enough maybe tomrrow I will have a new download for all the ship's in game with the caustics work and reflection fix's.

okay it is posted in the main thread part and looks like this

ROW Zone's and Special effect's: If the textures are the Heart of the mod then which ever one of these you use is the fun part of the ROW Mod. Only 1 can be used in your game at a time. Only the Sea Folder from NSM is needed to make it work correctly. Should be in port to add either of these.

Please use either T.M. 1.6 or Natrural Sinking Mechanics Light VS in your game before you install and use this download and only apply it to your game while in port. This contains the smoke fix for ending too fast! Thanks Canonicus for the quick reference.
ROW_Light_Zone's_Special_Effect's_vs_3

Please use Natural Sinking Mechanics Classic VS before using this download and only apply it to your game while in Port. This contains the smoke fix for ending too fast. Thanks Canonicus for the quick reference.
ROW_Classic_Zone's_Special_Effect's_vs_3

ROW_Special_Effect's_with_Stock_Game_zone's Nothing other than ROW textures is needed with this due to fire and oil slik texture dependancy.

ROW Sky and Water Controls: This contains all my Living Breathing ocean work and all of the work on the water reflections and sky controls and how the sun works in game. Due to popular demand star's sun and moon have been resized. I have incorporated as much work from other modders as possable in the scene file.

ROW_Sky_Ocean Color_Reflection_Controls

Sorry until I get the go ahead with the new Sky colors and water colors and textures and new moon halo from Jaketoox and Kriller2 I can not put that up for download yet. I need to wait for testers to say it is all good and then make sure it is cool with Kriller and jake. When I do post the new texture work there will be 2 vs of it one with the camera flair halo for the sun and one without the camera flair for the sun halo so you will have choices for your own game.

I will try to get the repair out to all of you for the surfacing sound effect for the sub and some new work from LukeFF tomarrow late night and will see about getting the rest of the ship reflection and caustics done but can not say for sure. I had to start from scratch as I accidently deleted the folder and had to start over again. :damn: :damn: :damn: :nope: :nope: :nope:

Fearless 11-08-07 12:09 AM

Awesome, will download 2night when I get home from work.
