Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not the neatest person around either but, when you can't find a place to set down without moving a pile out of the way first, that's bad.:nope:

Oraganized people can be so annoying. Where's the fun in knowing where everything is? Half the fun is in the search...

Then, again, I once expressed support for the bachelor's idea of apartment cleaning: once the apartment becomes too unkempt, move...

<O>

I had two colleagues who rented a bachelor apartment. I went to visit and the kitchen was immaculate. When I asked how much housework they did to keep it so clean, they told me none. They never used it for cooking because they ate out or had take-away meals every day, and the microwave was only used for heating up leftovers. Cannot fault their logic. :yeah:

probably how I would be if I were single.

Marriage does have a way of hindering single life...

LOL...tell me about it, I remember when the uniform got you the pick of the crop :)

The selection of microwave meals has gotten quite large in recent years for us single people. They are quite good actually.:yep:

GASP! Frau K, say it ain't so. You're not a Felix Unger... are you?

Don't get me wrong, I grew up in a fairly clean home. Mom wouldn't have it any other way. But the boys room was no woman's land.:O:
I'm nowhere near perfect in my current abode. My desk is a bloody mess from lack of trying because I fear if I clear any daylight on it, the garbage gnomes will pounce on it while I sleep. So, I leave it as is to deter them.:shifty:

Far from it, I loathe most housework. Which is one reason I like to have a place for everything, it's a lot easier to put things in order when there was some definable order to begin with. Also in a larger space it's easier because you're not constantly fighting with your surroundings just to have room to clean something. That's how it was in my apartment... doing a thorough cleaning of any room generally meant transporting half of what was in it into another location, where it had to be stepped over and worked around until it could be moved back.

And you see that shortish broom/dustpan combo hanging on that broom rack, that looks like the sort of thing a theater usher might have? I actually bought that because using a full size (long handled) broom in my former kitchen and bathroom was virtually impossible due to the fact that no matter which way you turned trying to sweep, the other end of the broom was always banging into a wall or cabinet or door or something. Very frustrating. I might actually get rid of that thing now, or maybe keep it upstairs where the only hard floors are the two bathrooms and it might be handier than carrying one of the other things up from downstairs. :hmmm:

Get on your broom and ride babe...

I'm a firm believer in order and logic and the right tools for the task at hand.

A full size broom to gather the dirt and prevent back fatigue. Followed by a whisk broom or a hand brush to sweep it into the dust pan.

May I suggest a vacuum cleaner?:03:

In other words, you don't need a broom unless you need one for transportation?:03:
What's your favorite? The Nimbus 2000 or the 2001?:haha:

I always liked the Nimbus line...

Good quality products.

Lol, I just prefer brooms for hard floors. I could run the vacuum over them but there are always some spots in kitchens and bathrooms that vacuums can't get to very well. Plus there's the garage and patio and I wouldn't use anything but a broom for that, assuming I ever get around to sweeping them. :O:
