Cant really see the mackems doing the toon any favours tonight but will be watching with interest.

With sorrow in my heart it is now clear that The TOON has to leave PL.
I have no idea of how you train a football team, If I had or got the chance to train a team like The TOON I would say to those who own Newcastle Expect that we are going to stay in Champion couple of years while we build a new team a team strong enough to take the step back to PL and be one of the top 5 the year after. That is what I would have done-but what do I know about training a football team. Markus |
TOON are precisely where there pitiful season performance dictates they should be.
Sunderland knew they had a problem early on and appointed an experienced manager who was capable of making the key decisions in a timely fashion. Newcastle knew similarly but Lee Charnley (Managing Director), ably supported by Graham Carr (Chief Scout) and owner Mike Ashley dillied and dallied over sacking Steve McClaren for far too long before bringing in Rafa Benitez who is widely acknowledged in the sport as being a world class coach......but far too late to make a substantial difference. It is easy to point out the TOON spent more money than any other team in the Premiership this season. The problem being, how it was wasted or to be polite 'spent unwisely'. Hopefully Charnley and Carr will move on and Ashley will make the correct decision seeing as Championship rules state you can't have a financial interest in more than one club. Will he sell his shares in Rangers or sell the TOON? I fear the former but I'd much prefer the latter. Could be we now slip into relative obscurity as happened to a once upon a time big club like Leeds but going into freefall mode is a distinct possibility if Rafa leaves and quick remedial action isn't forthcoming. http://i.imgur.com/DSHi4CC.jpg |
Sorry about TOON going down Jim, and unfortunately I can't see Mike Ashley selling Newcastle as he has less than 10% of Rangers.
I do hope that Newcastle can do Arsenal a big favor on the last weekend and beat Sp*rs. We have finished above them for 20 seasons in a row, and the only way to keep it going is if TOON win on Sunday. :03: |
If previous performance this season are anything to go by I wouldn't be expecting much of a favour from the TOON on Sunday.
|
Well even if the TOON do pull off a win, Arsenal are more than capable of losing to a team in last place. It has been results against "lower table teams" that have hurt us since January.
