Just a query to those with more smithing chops than I.

I have 100 smithing. Now, if I were to make a set of armor with smithing boosters will it increse the caliber of my work? Or is 100 smithing the rock solid upper level?

Same question with alchemy and enchanting. Can you get better levels than level 100 with armor enchantments?

My steam told me I played this game for 180 hours...

Should be more, I hate having a job, when I have epic games to play.:O:

100 is the cap IIRC, and I have put in around 260 hrs in total.

Thanks!:salute:
So happy I am not the only one cat-assing this game.:D

Sad thing is I been playing King Arthur 2 alongside it.

I am glad my old lady likes games too, my buddys wife gets so mad at him for playing on the computer too long, and is lucky to get 2 hours a day.

Edit, I just had to fight 3 dragons at once, well 2 at once. One went down, then a blood and frost showed up, I was at a dragons lair, but good god man, I almost died and left Aela at home.

You cannot raise your Smithing level above 100 however if you equip items with Fortify Smithing enchantments and/or use Fortify Smithing potions while improving armor and weapons (all of which seem to be stackable), you WILL get better quality items by virtue of all the temporary enhancements to your skill. You will NOT get perks you didn't already have.

For instance I'm at 100 on Smithing with all available perks. I can go to the workbench and improve a piece of, say, Ebony armor as much as possible with just that and get a pretty decent piece of protection.

But if I put on a piece of gear that enhances my given smithing abilities, and/or take a Fortify Smithing potion, I can go back to the workbench with the same piece of armor I just improved and it will tell me that I can *now* make it even better. However using that gear and potions will not allow me to forge Ebony armor if I didn't already have the perk for it.

I have a full set of apparel (including jewelry) that I wear for just for smithing with a Fortify Smithing enchantment on every item that will carry one. I can make Fortify Smithing potions that AFAIK are as powerful as they can be without using cheats to give me what wouldn't be possible just by using Enchanting and Alchemy the way the game set them up originally.

Let's just say I get pretty good results. :yep:

Armor & weapons can be greatly upgraded with the use of potions and enchanted gear.

IIRC, almost every armor in the game can be maxed out to the
armor cap (i.e. iron armor would be as good as dragonbone).

EDIT: Ninja FK is ninja.

Of which the game only uses 567. :-?

Armor Cap

I will keep that in mind when I make my dragon armor.

Using legendary Daedric ATM, also using a mod that remove restrictions on what you can enchant on what armors.:D

Women.

Shoes, and dresses.

:dead:

I will assume the same applies for Alchemy and enchanting.

I am 100 in all 3, I cannot wait to tinker around.

I am a huge fan of paralytic poisons and magic resist enchantments. The latter makes you invincible late game.

Looks like Markarth has got the decorators in...not sure I like the style... :hmmm:

Gotta love that ancient Dwemer style!

I'm thinking more of the pink and lilac scenery myself, I think it clashes with my armour. :nope:

Anyone tried out the Portal 2 Space core mod fro skyrim from what Ive seen it does nothing apart from saying a few words but doesn't follow you around which would of been cool if it did. Its like you pick it up or kick it away whatever and thats it. Plus rumor is there is a portal 2 quest ingame if you can find it.

Be good if space core could be a companion.

Dowly 02-21-12 08:44 PM

Yeah, that's pretty much all it does, talk. Tho, mine doesn't talk anymore for some reason. :hmmm:

As for the quest, nothing in-game atm AFAIK. The whole rumor is based on someone
seeing portal2quest mentioned in the console commands, but that's about it.
