I don't need to understand nothing. Like you, I can read all these datas in these files. What I need, is you, to just answer a single simple question:
In your meaning, does represent YOUR: EnvColors_Polar.cfg EnvColors_Polar_A.cfg EnvColors_Temperate.cfg EnvColors_Tropical.cfg EnvColors_Tropical_A.cfg The colors of the regions on which you set them ? For example: Your "EnvColors_Tropical_A.cfg" is affected to map "Color100" and this "Color100" correspond to the region which is the most close to the equator. http://www.acsoft.ch/tmp/envcol3.jpg Now, if you compare on the picture here over, the colors of "EnvColors_Tropical_A.cfg" and those of "EnvColors_Tropical.cfg" (picture taken with the same SH5 save situation, therefore same location, same date, same meteo), IT IS OBVIOUS that "EnvColors_Tropical_A.cfg" which is supposed to represent a more tropical climate (more close from the equator) have quite cold colors, almost in comparison with the colors of "EnvColors_Tropical.cfg". So, yes, I really don't understand what you are trying to do. Also, what to say about the distribution of these colors palettes, along the Earth latitudes ?!? See the picture here after: http://www.acsoft.ch/tmp/envcol4.jpg In the red circle, from North to South, You have "Polar_A" followed by "Polar" at level of England and channel between France & Great Britain !!! Then Temperate followed by Tropical_A, followed by Tropical and then again Tropical_A. !?!?! No doubt you are a very great artist to build very realistic looking ambiance in SH5, but I don't understand nothing to the way your distribute these colors over the World. ACS |
1. I think that the file climatezones.tga was edited few times, and don't know this is W_clear's work. You should read all post at this tread and I'm sure you'll find the answer why climatezones.tga looks like on this picture.
2. Maybe you should use /propose your version of this file. You ask why near England the polar environmant is. I can ask, why these lines between regions are straight? They looks non-real, right?. I found some diffirent versionof climatezones.tga, like on this post: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=240 3. Could you use very simple easy english when asking? Our chineese friend does not speak english very good... |
Dear Antar, thanks for trying to help !

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=170162 A work made by a French guy, devoted to W_clear mod. I founded that his climatezones.tga was, to my opinion, the best around, as it respect real world zone distribution, has the trick of different color on coast and even add a suplementary palette Temperate_A. So I have corrected this nice climatezones.tga map (you know it is my speciality LOL) who had also illegal colors and proposed this work and my collaboration to improve these ClimatZone to W_clear with private messages. But W_clear refused to go in this direction for reasons who belong to him, like he didn't apparently also took in account the gift made by the French guy. No problem, I respect that. I mean his Mod belong to him, so he decide and do what he want. Quote:
But English is also not my mother language. So it is also sometimes difficult for me to explain, depending on what you have to explain. ACS |

http://imgur.com/jJQ3e.jpg This climatezones.tga made by someone here in the forums (I do not remember who) comes very close to the real distribution of the climate and should perhaps be used in future versions of this mod if the creator of this climatezones.tga agrees. http://imgur.com/zI98b.png |
Perhaps he made it so in order to achieve greater environment diversity around the playable zones, while taking a hit on the simulation aspect.
The game is quite limited with respect to the environment colors combination (even though much above previous versions). The colors are much too precisely defined according to climate zone and weather type. Perhaps each environment should have been defined with a range of colors, or even allowing a small amount of randomness. |
I tried to build my world map as on your 'vegetation' screen... but I use W_clear's map colors (8 colors).
Why on your screen are 10 colors? When W_clear uses only 8? Another issue: there should be uneven number of zones: 1. Polar <- color 1 2. Arctic <- color 2 3. Cold-temp <- color 3 4. Warm temp <- color 4 5. Sub-tropical <- color 5 6. Tropical <- color 6 7. Sub-tropical <- color 5 8. Warm temp <- color 4 9. Cold temp <- color 3 10. Arctic <- color 2 11. Polar <- color 1 and there are six colors only... and we have 8-10? http://www.forum.polishseamen.pl/ima...s/drapanie.gif |
New underwater can someone post a screenshot of that please, thank you Guys.
